New Idea Appears!

I agree. It could work with some support struts throughout it. Though...if you were crazy enough... Hot glue alone might work, as long as everything is completely encased in it. As in, all the electronics go into it while its melted. You'd have to devise a method of keeping the screen and controls at the surface while its drying. And if something should go wrong with the electronics it'd be hell to get to them. And even if you COULD get all the glue off, you'd probably screw everything up in the process.Indigno wrote:As other people have said, hot glue gives too much to be a good case. However... You could try building a plastic/ metal skeleton and making a hot glue skin over that.
But still..it could work. If you were insane. Now, if we're talking the traditional method with walls, etc. then no way.

I've read this out loud to my brother, and he's shouted out a couple ideas:
Making a game system case entirely out of the following things:
Tar, Sugar Glass, Leather, Balsa Wood, Bubble Gum, and... Orange Peels?
EDIT: Looking at it now, I think that "and" on the end should have been an "or." Making a case out of those things would result in some kind of... MacGyver system...

I don't know what got into me. I thought it was a great idea, and thus completely forgot how far back in history I was... I might be retarded.

I was just browsing back in time. Looking through all eleven pages of case construction, as I obviously haven't been here for even a page of them.

Re: New Idea Appears!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........
Well, my idea, and I may attempt it in the future, is to take 5 pounds of hot glue pellets ($15 shipped on eBay) and melt them into a block shape, all at once. Oven, whatever. Then cut this block in half, carve, and us as a mold for vacuum forming. Just as long as the glue doesn't get gooey when it touches the hot plastic. Although it would be interesting to play a portable actually made of hot glue. I think that idea fits you better than me though...

Re: New Idea Appears!
While the thread is bumped I mind as well throw this out there.
Take the heating coil things out of a toaster and put them inside of the hot glue case and then you can flip a switch to heat it up while you hold it and it will melt to fit your hands perfectly.
This way other people can use it comfortably (if burning your hands is comfortable)
