As I said, The Darth 64 was sold on ebay for $600 or so I believe. You're offering a third of that.
The L64 I believe Sonyportablizer has it, but I do not know...

That's what I thought. For $315 or so, you could get a decent portable. I think Shockslayer does them pretty cheap, don't know exact price, but it's cheap and very decent quality. :)
I would pm him.

The cost of the parts usually makes up (depending on the seller) 20-60% of the final cost of the portable, sometimes more if they like giving away their work. you have to factor in the persons time to wire everything up, build/modify the case etc. even at minimum wage rates your looking at about 150-200$ MINIMUM for misc parts cost and labor. this hobby is weird because the profit margins for hand build portables are usually terrible. in many other custom fabrication type jobs/hobbys the average wage for a skilled craftsman is 25-60 dollars per hour, not minimum wage. IIRC the last time marshall took a commission for a portable n64 it was 1500$

Does everyone forget the batteries?

I spend anywhere from $100-$145 forLithium-Poly batteries, the pcb, and the charger from http://www.batteryspace.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for every major power hungry portable I build.

Theres no way to get them cheaper unless you use inferior batteries or heavy less effective batteries.

So the price is usually as follows: (averages)

Psone screen : $60
Batteries Lithium-Poly - $120
System : $35
Third party controller: $15
Tact switches / buttons /caps/ etc : $20
Case (either premade or frankenmod) - $20
Wires / solder/ resistors / regulators/ etc - $25
Sandpaper / Paint / plastic filler/ bondo - $40
Time : Priceless

Total : $315

Granted that is worse case scenario , ie : you have nothing laying around to use. But it still is the value of what it costs.

So you can take your" $300 is all it's worth" and go buy a PSP.

I always figure about $350 for the parts and then charge around that for labor.

So in theory yes. I'll accept $300ish if you supply parts. But I'm kinda busy right now... :wtf:
