We have to negotiate the battery, that is not included in the $200, as it is not mine. It is a SONY NP-F550, which is rated at 10.8W. I'd be willing to part with it and the charger for $50.
Any interest?

And $200 for a portable without batteries or a charger? Come on.

@schmellyfart: Unfortunately, you do not understand an n64 portable and how much one is worth.
Its worth that much. Not only does it have a gamecube joystick, but its incredibly light. I don't think there are any lighter portables with internal batteries.
No, its not mine, I would have to sell the battery and charger for that price in order to replace the battery and charger. So there.
Oh, and:
N64: $35
Screen: $55
Shipping for screen: $10
Controller: $15
Shipping for controller: $6
Gamecube controller: $10
Buttons, switches: $15
TI converter + resistors and capacitors: $20 (Yes, I'm out of free samples)
Okay, were are at $166, and I sure as hell don't do this for free, and shipping is included, so that makes $200.
And, it is an n64 portable. Which is hard for most people who haven't already made one and who want one to do.
So as far as your price check goes: you fail at selling. Try again, and use the boost to get through!
---
@Mario: I am working on the case, even though there isn't really much to do, as there isn't much point. It keeps that original N64 feel. But, if I choose to epoxy it up, and then sand it and paint it, it will add to the weight, something of which I am trying to keep down.
And I could, in fact, put this in a zn40 case. Two of the batteries I am use ing equals quite a good batterylife for this unit, and they could be placed underneath the controls on the inside, which would mkae me the king of Zn-4X n64 portables. I'm serious, I am considering that.

You need to learn how to pinch a penny.
I spent:
Screen: $46 shipped (And Tekken 3!)
N64: 2x plus Jumper Pack $35+shipping ($12?)
Controllers: $5 off a friend, 1x 64, 1x GC
Buttons and switches: They are on the controllers. Why settle for something uglier?
Converter+bits:$3
Batteries:$30 (8Ah 7.4V)
Charger: $20
That puts me at $151, WITH batteries and charger.

Ok that makes more sense. I guess I am more frugal than most people, thats why I thought it was fairly expensive. I have to ask, where did you get a $15 n64 controller?ShockSlayer wrote:@schmellyfart: Unfortunately, you do not understand an n64 portable and how much one is worth.

And with the battery, it was the way that you worded the sentence that got me.
$6 bucks for a controller is a good deal for a used one when building a newer portable its nice to use new parts so yeah 15 bucks is about the going rate for a new third party N64/game cube controller at 3-D games, and Play-n-Trade. Mucho Kudos on a great portable but if I was you to settle all quams slap it an a ZN40 and claim your thrown as king of the ZN geeks

If you all think the price is too high keep it to yourself, personally i dont understand why he insists on selling his portables for almost zero profit but good luck on the sale regardless!

Thanks, finally a good word.Triton wrote:If you all think the price is too high keep it to yourself, personally i dont understand why he insists on selling his portables for almost zero profit but good luck on the sale regardless!
It doesnt hurt to spend a bit of extra cash in oder to get exactly what I want and need. $15 for a controller may seem much, but not only is it new and in the package, but it takes me all of five seconds to transplant the GC joystick. I'm serious, I can litterally desolder both and stick it right in and solder it. Works like magic.

lol, i might give you crap all the time but honestly im very impressed by how much you have improved since your first n64P. sure this one is still pretty ugly compaired to others but for something that took 5 hours to build not bad at all. your one in the zn40 case had me impressed as hell, now if you could just work on making them look good as well as work good! if your gonna sell something make it look as good as possible to get more money! its better than breaking even8 GALLONS OF HOT GLUE!

If it cost you $166 and you are selling it for $200, fair price.
However, for comparison, I put your prices in comparison to what I pay at car boot sales and e-bay:
N64: $35
£3 or £4 (car boot sales), with jumper pack. Expansion pack £7 (ebay / car boot)
Screen: $55
£40 unopened, new condition, e-bay; or £30 used but good condition. So £30.
Shipping for screen: $10
(included in above)
Controller: $15
£1 - car boot sales - official controller; otherwise about £2 for third party one.
Better option - Superpad controller, about £14 - ebay.
Shipping for controller: $6
n/a
Gamecube controller: $10
Plus £1 for a GC controller (although you can use PSone controllers for the joysticks, you get 2 in them too) - car boot sales
Buttons, switches: $15
£2 - most of the buttons and switches are from the original controllers.
TI converter + resistors and capacitors: $20
£4, although you can send for new samples if you want for free, I can't.
Total - £62 inc expansion pack - $89. By the same proportion you could sell for $120!! (you might sell it then).
A bit different to $166!
