FS/T: Pokemon and Magic the Gathering cards

Post by lifeisbetterwithketchup » Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:08 pm

I have about 1000 Pokemon cards from back in the day and a few thousand Magic the Gathering cards from a few years ago. I'm just posting to see if anyone has any interest. If there is interest, I'll post more info/pics.

I'm not really sure what this stuff is worth now. Which do you have an interest in?

That's absolutely ridiculous. Assuming you have 200 cards, that's roughly 13-14 packs of 15, which IIRC were/are about $3 each. So, new, your cards were about $40. Unless they're super mega rare cards or something, $50 is an outrageous price to pay for that amount of cards. Also, a thousand cards for $400? That's equally as ridiculous. A thousand cards is about 67 packs, which at $3 each is still only ~$200. And I in no way expect to get back all the money I poured into these cards. But hey, if somebody wants to pay $400 for a thousand of them, I won't complain.

I'm not interested in anything extremely specific, but I prefer pre-8th edition (mostly just aesthetics, but also for design). Are your cards really spread out, or just a few sets?

My stuff is mostly Onslaught through Champions of Kamigawa, with some older stuff and very little newer stuff (newest is I believe the last Kamigawa set).

Do you know if you have any of the better cards from those sets. I wouldnt want random commons, but I might buy a few extended or legacy staples

Can you name any specific cards from those sets you'd want? One "staple" I know I have is Chrome Mox (I have 2 or 3 of them).

I know I have a bunch of those. I have no time today, but I'll post which ones specifically tomorrow.

Chrome Mox - 2
Goblin Warchief - 4
Goblin Piledriver - 4
Time Stop (Champions of Kamigawa) - 1
Minds Desire - 1
Brain Freeze - 3
Sulfuric Vortex - 4
Loxodon Warhammer - 3
Aether Vial - 4
Vault of Whispers - 8
Tree of Wisdom (I assume you meant Tree of Tales) - 9
Seat of the Synod - 7
Serum Visions - 1

Those are what I have; are there any others you want ("a short list of cards" to me implies that there are more)?

They range from the first set to I believe one of the Gym leaders sets.
