NEED: Small D-Pad (GBC, GBA, etc.)

Post by CronoTriggerfan » Sun Dec 02, 2007 3:58 pm

I need a small d-pad for my PDA project. I was planning on using an NES one, but it's a tad too wide, and the other alternative I have, the Gamecube d-pad, is far too thick. The GBC and GBA are the only really small ones I know of, but if you think of another that is small, thin, and would suit the needs of a PDA hack, I'd love to hear about them. Nothing Pokemon Pikachu small, but any bigger than that is okay.

I'd like for it to be free, if possible. :P If you guys could throw a d-pad in an envelope and mail it on out, I'd greatly appreciate it! :D

Why not make one?

I could try vac-forming one, it'd be a lot of wasted plastic with my table, but, well, I have about 7 square feet just sitting in my room with nothing to do. And it'd give me something to do, as I'm saving my illegally obtained version of portal and episode two for the holidays. Or tomorrow. Whichever comes first.
Hey, sup?

You can always make a D-pad cross with perspex, as long as you have the rubber contacts and mobo; you can always make existing ones smaller to fit...

Some comparisons:

Left to right: Dremacase VMU, G&W mini, GBA, NES, N64 (Superpad), (generic)
I can't spare them, will need them potentially for other projects. This is to give you some idea of sizes.

If you want, you can buy me whole Game Boy Advanced SP for like $30 and take the D-Pad off it.
