In the NES by Hand, is the Phono Jack for headphones?

No, its for a dc adaptor in case you wanted to run the nesp off of wall power. Don't try putting headphones in there...you'll either damage the headphones or your brain

No, by Phono jacks Ben is referring to RCA jacks which came into use with phonographs. They are the standard yellow/red/white connectors.
