Sony InfoLithium tabs.

Post by jeffslot » Thu Sep 20, 2007 6:33 am

Hi,

There I'm doing a custom portable project, but I'm trying to use Ben's book to implement a sony infolithium battery into it. I've been having a really hard time getting the battery holder to hold the battery. Anyone else that has done this successfully? Or have any advice. I've been using the Handbuilt PSP templates. I guess If I can't get this going, I'll end up switching back to AA's, but it will be a serious decrease in Mahs. Thanks.

Velcro seems to be popular, but might need to be replaced a few times.

Strong double-sided tape, if you don't need to take them off.

Velcro and some sort of hook/screw setup?
Hey, sup?

I suggest using what I did on my SNESp and use the really strong 3M stuff from RadioShack. It won't fray like regular velcro and holds it really well. Make sure you can still fit the battery onto it's charger with the stuff attached, though.

I had a really hard time trying to imitate what Ben did, so I took the easy way out.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm not a big fan of velcro on my portables. I built a snug lexan box around the battery that it slides into.

That's really very good amperage. The battery should be a bit thick. Right?

Yeah, the battery is probably about 2X as thick as the one ben uses in his book, but it's not too bad. Here is a pic of the housing I build for it.

What board is this you're hacking? Please shoot a make-of story since I want to work on a similar project. Very nice job. Provide more pictures and details, please.

Mv-1c.

I can send you a making of story if you want (it will take a couple of days to put it together knowing me), even better. You can have this portable real cheap, if you're interested). Maybe you can get the audio working.

(in the meantime, there are more pics here: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=21759 )

jeffslot - Perhaps you should post your make-of story here rather than sending me privately. That'd be very nice to read the story.
