negative part of battery

negative part of battery

so for the nes, im going to make my own portable version. and on page 121, for number 5, it tells you where to connect the positive end of the battery. but where do i put the negative end? do i ground it directly to the motherboard or what?

You can ground to the metal on the NES board.
