Re: Can Anyone Make Me A Minecraft Server?
First thing to do is read as much about setting up and maintaining a server as you can, so you know what you're getting into. You're going to need lots of RAM to run a decent server as well. Start by hitting these two sites: http://www.speedtest.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; htt...

Re: PCB power supply Up in flames, anything I can do to fix?
The length of the wires doesn't matter much on an analog line. (Logic traces, on the other hand, can get wonky if the line is off by enough of a margin to cause timing issues.) Either a connection somewhere shorted out or too much voltage made its way to that part of the board.

Re: Computer Phone Modem?
Well, using the PC as a phone won't do much for the sound quality. Ma Bell only used a certain frequency bandwidth for phone communications (I don't recall the exact values), to make long distance transmission easier. As long as you're going through POTS at some point, your sound is getting clipped....

Re: Computer Phone Modem?
I think it was called ApplePhone. It could act as an answering machine, but it didn't have Caller ID and required a Power Mac with a GeoPort Telcom Adapter. It was more like a demo than an actual usable piece of software. Unfortunately, Telephony never really caught on. Everything went to cell phone...

Re: Computer Phone Modem?
I'm sure there is still telephony software out there, but the last time I saw any it was for Mac OS 7.
The only thing I can think of is Asterisk, but it's deigned as an enterprise PBX and might be a pain to configure.

Re: Soldering charged battery cells.
If you're just using a low-wattage soldering iron you don't have to worry about the batteries exploding unless you're trying to make them explode deliberately. Just work quickly and tack the wire on and you don't have to worry about it. Nickel-based batteries are more forgiving than Lithiums. (And i...

Re: Is it ok to use a digital photo viewer instead ?
Those portable 9-10" digital TVs they sell at Target will work too. Pretty much any device with a video input will work, provided you can get the console to output in a format the screen will accept.

Done!
Note to everyone else asking for name changes: We only do them if there's a valid reason to do so, like this.

Re: NETJET
Not according to Wikipedia. The Net Jet is a proprietary controller, it can only be used for its own games and not as a standard PC gamepad controller (it was detected as a USB hub, as opposed to a game controller by the computer). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_Jet" onclick="window.open(this.href...
