Re: can any one make a step by step guide
I'd recommend going for a 360 portable, because broken 360s are a dime a dozen (I'm looking at 4 right now). You could practice on a broken motherboard before you risk any real cash.

Re: A Battery Question (3.5" eBay screen)
The Black's battery (the unidentified one) is outputting about 6.7v, the Sony is on the charger now. I guess I'll find out if it's enough when the screen gets here. Update: The battery terminals probably need to be cleaned, the battery wasn't fully charged. I'm expecting a full 7.5 volts after an ov...

Re: A Battery Question (3.5" eBay screen)
The 3000mAh battery is a Sony NP-98. It's an old one that fit a Samsung camcorder (though I believe it came with a Sony that we had at one time).Snipeye wrote:What kind of camcorder battery comes in a 3000mAh version? Post model #'s here, please.

Re: A Battery Question (3.5" eBay screen)
Awesome! Thanks!
I found two camcorder batteries that should output 7.5 volts, one is rated at 3000 mAh, and the other is unmarked. I'm charging them and testing them with my multimeter to confirm the voltage.

A Battery Question (3.5" eBay screen)
I am in the process of assembling the parts for my first portable. I have been skimming through this forum for a few days, and read a few recommendations for batteries, but I can't seem to find them now that I'm finally ready to buy. I will be frankencasing the origional n64 case, and the screen wil...

Re: PS3 turn on problem!
Yep. A hair dryer hits something like 60 degrees, and my heatgun hits 375 on low. The idea is to melt the solder, so a hairdryer would be as effective as leaving it out in the sun. "when i press the power button it goes on the green light, stays on it for 2 seconds then switches off then the red lig...

Re: The best way to fixe a 3 RRDOD?
Thanks - as the xbox only overheated for a few seconds and because its a jasper do you think I could just fix it with a heatgun(there lot's of videos on youtube showing me how to)? There really is no way to tell. I haven't had much luck with 0022 consoles, but it definetly won't hurt. My advice: Wa...

Re: Troubleshooting Your N64
Tried your 3 steps after re-flowing the board. I don't know which one fixed it, but it works now! Thanks! Tried a few days later, same problem. The 3 steps alone didn't work. Reflowed it again last night, and did the 3 steps just now, and it worked. I should also mention that it was unmodded the fir...

Does anyone have a youtube video of this setup in action? I'm definitely going to put one in my n64.

Re: need help understanding coin acceptor.
I know it's been answered, but I thought I'd add a few things. The coin acceptor is just a switch, it even looks the same as those for your buttons/joystick. It is very easy to wire. I got mine for $20 used on ebay, make sure you get the door and the coin mech for your country (So you don't have to ...

Re: Flashing Xbox 360 and turning into a laptop
From my experiences, just doing the x-clamp fix will not work. Use the heatgun trick, but do your research. Know exactly how long to hold the heatgun in certain places, what to clean the chips with, how to reapply thermal paste. I find that after a fix they will usually last 2 weeks or they're pract...
