I'm sure the Epia N8000 wouldn't mind to much, and you could probably shave quite a bit off the Epia N5000's heatsink. According to websites, however, the Epia N10000 uses a C3 instead of an Eden CPU. The Eden takes around 5-8 watts of power to run, while the C3 takes from 10-12 (if memory serves), ...

Food for thought, or thoughts to be consumed?
Just some things to think about: A 12cm x 12cm mobo with 1GHz Via C3 processor. It would be capable of such games as Quake III Arena and most emulators, but little beyond that. On the other hand, it is tiny, and uses little energy to run. http://www.eastluna.com/hardware/details.php?ProductID=0654 F...

 Those prices are amazing! 115 for an Epia-N with 533Mhz Eden CPU!? Even less for 800Mhz Eden!? (drools) Let us not forget that pesky thing known as a "heat sink". The- "Heat Sink" - on the Epia N boards are practically as large as the boards themselves. The Epia N10000 would also have a smal...

Low priced Mini-ITX???
A mini-ITX mobo for only 59.99!? Is that in US dollars, because it sounds like a fantastic deal. What are the specs on that board, if you don't mind me asking? I switched my desktop monitor to 640x480 just to see what it was like. It really isn't that bad, and if the PSone screen truly has 640x480 p...

Bouncing around the PCp threads.
FDSMAN: this PCp of yours is going to be awesome, when you get it put together and running. ONE of the AMD equivalents of a P4 2.8GHz is the Athlon XP 2800+ (you can find a low voltage 50 watt version if you look hard enough). Then there is also the Athlon 64 2800+. Most AMD chips can be overclocked...

Battery
I've found my battery, though I still haven't purchased anything yet. It will be a fair amount of time before I have the funds to begin this project. This is a 12v 4000 mAh rechargable NiMH pack: http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=172 The price and capacity are ideal fo...

PCp's dream
Ha! I like how they show the retail price for the track-points as 200 dollars :P I'm new to this forum, and all forums in general, so I'm not perfectly sure what KMP and PM mean. The track-point would certainly be useful to me, but I've been rethinking my entire PCp project, and new plans are pushin...

Ditto
Ditto. I'd really like to know how you plan to wire in that track point, and where you got ahold of it (laptop, some other electrical component?).

Hello All
This is my first post to anywhere on this forum, but there will definitely be more to come. I've been following this thread for quite a while now (ok, so I just read it all last night) and I thought 'well, heck, I might as well join in'. I, too, am working on a portable system, though I haven't exac...
