Hmm...512K total, huh? That's the maximum size for an NES cart(256KB PRGROM and 256KB CHRROM), and could hold any official(and many pirated, since more would require a custom mapper chip) NES games in existance, even Earthbound Zero...that and it works with 27C256, 27C512, 27C101/010,27C202/020 EPRO...

Sorry, I meant that I wanted to hook up the controller ports to the system in such a way that all controllers would stay compatible.HK-47 wrote:Here to be exact.
I need to know where Pins 1-9 connect to the Atari main board.

I just finished some design pics and guts arrangements (Copy and paste pics into browser, because angelfire can be evil) http://www.angelfire.com/oh5/mm007/atari6erguts.jpg These are the internal arrangements of the system. This is almost perfectly proportionate. http://www.angelfire.com/oh5/mm007/a...

now are you trying to put it in a cart and have it plug into the nes, or just fit it all in a nes cart? I don't really see the point of having 2 cart. ports also. Most AAA rechargables I've seen are in the area of 750-1000mAH.... I am trying to do both. Also, if you have 2 cart ports, that means th...

Questions for a project: "Atari 2600 Light Sixer"
I am designing an Atari 2600 with 2 cartridge ports, a controller in parallel with port 1, 8 AAA batteries, the stereo mod, A/V out(no LCD or anything, it hooks up to the TV like a normal unit would), and all 6 switches into an NES cartridge(placement of these things is about finalized already), but...

Ooohhh..... Its what the "mysterious extra pins" on the game carts are for.... I thought the extra pins were used for the NES "lock-out" chip which the Famicom lacked. Also, how would I make this pass-through cart? I do have an electronics background, an EEPROM burner, and some spare 27CXXX chips l...

Does NES have an A/V Pass-through?
I want to know if there are audio and video pass-through connectors it the cartridge slots in the NES. Also, if any exist on the SNES, N64, Genesis, that'd be a good thing to know. ^^
I want to make an Atari-in-a-cart, but since I am asking about NES passthrough, I put it here.

$12+, huh? Well, What DC-DC converters can give me 12, 5, and 3.3 V? It is either that or an ITX. No good. The 78XX chips are meant to provide a constant output voltage, something those alternatives cannot do. Resistors and diodes can't deal with changing input voltages and changing output loads. Sa...

I realize that a 7805 takes in at least 7.2V and puts out 5V, but generates heat. If I am only using one battery voltage(7.2V), can i decrease heat by putting in a specific voltage LED and maybe current-limiting resistor instead of a 7805? It may work better since they give off some of that energy a...
