I've never had to do that in my monitors, the PSU was seperate from everything else. It's all about the monitor, I guess I just got lucky

i cant help with the brand name part but i can say this; popular screens are the ones with inbuilt speakers, i can tell you its a lot easier to merge psu's if you pick a screen that has its own power brick. I like it, but if you're going to sell them, I've got a suggestion: I think it would be easier for the thing to be powered off the 5v out on the iPod's charge port thing, along with unamped audio to come from there aswell. That along with a good Cmoy amp would make for something I would definitely b...

9XXXXs run off of 7.4v and have a small motherboard as well if the power supply is taken out.(9XXXXs have built in PSUs)
