Re: Memory Question...
Plus, you have to remember that you aren't getting the full 4gb's from a 32-bit processor, you're not even getting 3.5gb's. Buy a dedicated graphics card (you can actually go above 1gb on the dedicated graphics card memory if you wish, but those can be expensive) and the issue will go away. You'll h...

Re: Memory Question...
Purchasing a dedicated graphics card would be your best option. Four gigabytes of RAM is plenty for an XP system and you would eliminate the lag by purchasing the graphics card. A decent one for your video editing purposes is going to cost $75-100 new. Reading up on your board, you could replace the...

Re-arranging the buttons on a Game Boy
Here's my dilemma. I'm currently working on a Game Boy Classic mod and the GB motherboard is too long for it to fit in my case (changing the case is not an option here as it would ruin the entire idea). What I need to do is trim the motherboard (remove the D-PAD and other buttons). I was already pla...

I'll give this a try over my extended weekend as I don't have school on Monday.
I can't give you a 3D view but I can certainly provide you with top, front/back, and left/right views.

"Anything made in the late 70's and all throughout the 80's. I have an old sony str-6055, a Fisher CA 810. Very good stuff can be had just scouring." So true. Fisher, Pioneer, Realistic, Marantz, Sansui, Sony, the list goes on and on for receivers in that time period. eBay is your friend. Most of my...

I'm interested in buying both of the Toshiba's if you still have them.

Yes, that is the one. It blends in rather nicely with everything else, making it even better.

Re: PS3 Slim in a SONY DVD/BD box ?
I saw this thread and it had me thinking: Instead of taking an existing Sony box, gutting it out, and trying to fix a PS3 Slim in it, why not buy an HTPC case, put the PS3 in that, and add a Sony emblem to the front? You could easily get the emblem from an old DVD or even VCR and working with a comp...

Re: Anyone thought to combine all the consoles in one machine?
I can't find the link but I've seen another one where someone gutted out an old CRT monitor, installed an LCD along with a few consoles. I've also seen one made from a Plexiglass case but the R2-D2 is in a league of its own.

Re: the best way to cut mobos?
I've never used one on a circuit board but have used one on more delicate material (thin Aluminum, for example). I've never had an issue like that. You would definably want to try it out on a "throwaway" board to make sure it could make the cut before going to the real thing, but I don't see why it ...

On my Windows partition, I'm using avast! It's free and it's good. For Linux, I use Clam. It's also free and good. It's also GPL, which is even better.

I'm going to make another suggestion to you: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8792/too-17/Super_Nibbler_Metal_Cutter_-_Rubber_Gripped.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I know a guy with the original Nibbler (which is also available on their website). Re: Idea for a GCP
Instead of removing the optical drive, why not keep it connected but reduce its size? I'm not familiar with the Gamecube but I'd assume that you could at least slim the optical drive by removing unnecessary components. Mechanical parts, such as gears, could be removed and you could likely get away w...

Re: Dreamcast Portable - Theme Based
Shenmue. When I think of the Dreamcast, that game always comes to mind. To me, it was a revolutionary title that doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. Soul Calibur was another great game that made its first console appearance on the Dreamcast. You could also do a Resident Evil themed console, w...
