Re: DMG multi-mod
Very nice. I like it. Mainly because you did a decent job, where as it is very rare to see someone actually make a PCB because all the others just use a breadboard and CAT5 cable

Re: Reading N64 Memory
It is possible. Just extremely complex because you're working now with Rambus Dynamic Random Access Memory . Why you would want to tap into the RAM I dont know, but there would not be anything interesting. Best person to ask, would be Marshallh (on these forums). He is a legend and a very busy guy, ...

Okay. Just dont touch anything while it is plugged in. Remember that, and you will be fine.

Re: Want to build an SNES repro cart
It seems like all of the chips that I find >4Mbit are 2.7-3.6v, whereas the SNES cart provides 5v. Would, say this chip http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/Devices.aspx?dDocName=en549546 work, using a 3.3v regulator? I'm looking for an EEPROM that would fit the bill but so far, no luck (most of wh...

Re: Need Help Modding a AC/DC Power Adapter
I dont really do a lot of work with high voltage, but from what I can understand is that the transformers windings is set to output 9.5 volts AC. You can see the separation on the primary and secondary on the transformer. The primary uses the thicker insulated wire, where as the secondary uses the t...

Re: Want to build an SNES repro cart
You can go with Flash ROM if you want. Programming it will be harder than an EPROM / EEPROM though. I just think for the SNES an EEPROM is best suited. Well, as I can see, the SNES is a 16-bit console. So, you will need a 16 bit wide chip (that is, 16 data lines). http://nesdev.parodius.com/bbs/view...

Re: SNES Bad Cap & Other Component. Need Help Finding Parts.
Argh, I hate when things like this happen. It is so tricky to track down the problem. The only thing I can honestly think of, is that the cartridge slot may be bad. I mean, give the pins a good resolder if they are though hole based (I dont really know the SNES mainboard). It could be anything reall...

Re: VGA output via fpga
Just a thought and question. Would it be possible wire this to a genesis or a Nes. Don't flame me I'm just thinking if I can use this in a project box with some ports to plug in multiple systems. It could be possible, depending on how the video signals in the NES and Genesis are generated. If there...

Re: Want to build an SNES repro cart
Dont use Flash ROM. Get the same megabit they reccomend in an EEPROM DIP package. This job isn't for people new to electronics. It is quite a long process to make such a device. I would offer to make one for you, but I dont own a SNES :/ By the way, who ever did this soldering, really needs help. ht...

You cant fry the PlayStation 1. It has reverse protection diodes on all of the models. You would have jumped something, or exceeded the voltage limit...
