Re: NES CART Idea
Yeah, but why would anyone bother with a second OS on a cartridge? Seems kind of pointless to me. Maybe put games on it, but then why bother with a NES PC. Like I said, cool, but not that useful.
Or maybe it is? Have all the connections and make it a universal expansion interface.

Nice project! Loving the creative use of parts. About the power supply, just get out the voltmeter and test the lines with it running. Sounds dangerous I know, but that is the best way. Also, don't put the speaker on the outside. With a young kid around, it will get destroyed. Trust me, I'm 14 and s...

Re: WTB: Some rare classics system accessories!
Super Famicoms are pretty common in Japan. They are easy to get on eBay and there are a few Japan/Asia importers that stock them. I've seen a Satellaview on eBay for an expensive but not exhorbitant price. Don't see why you would want one though, they are completely useless because the service is Ja...

Re: NES CART Idea
Neat idea, but useless in practice. A flash drive or optical drive in a cart would be a lot more useful.

Re: Has anyone tried this yet??
Pretty meh. The clone systems themselves aren't bad, not great but not bad. Pretty much the same level as an FC Twin. But it's the way they are combined that sucks. It only uses special controllers with Genesis connectors but NES/SNES signalling. Also, there are some accounts that the way the video ...

Re: How much thermal paste?
Cheap thermal paste is good enough for most things, but AS5 is better and generally gets you a few more degrees. MaxPC says that you should use a BB size drop of paste.

Re: Portable-Palooza 2009 - Voting Was Influenced
If you ask me, this is a huge copulate. Let's do the sequence of events: 1) Bacteria attempts to rig contest and buy votes, maybe not seriously, but he tries. 2) Maybe some people listen, maybe they just liked his portable, maybe they would have voted for him anyway, maybe not. But either way, peopl...

Why would it cost so much? It's just a little water! Unless you let it sit and rot or something...

Re: Answer to my desoldering woes!
Or take the easy way out; just use a heat gun or propane torch. Have to be careful not to delaminate the PCB, especially with the propane torch. I used a propane torch to desolder my NES cart slot, and it worked great; a few seconds, and it was off. My god. You will copulate up your board doing that.

Could be fried. Then again, it could be a loose connection somewhere.
