Re: Psone Screen Question

You can get a 7808 voltage regulator, which will take in anything ~32v and spit out 8v, providing a safe amount of voltage going into your PSOne screen. Re: help noob
If I may offer some advice - don't try to make plans about the layout and stuff of the portable without getting an empty ZN-45 and all the parts (the controller ports, screen, etc) and fitting them around in the case to see if it will work (it won't be perfect, but hey). Also, the PSOne screen will ...

Those wires don't look insulated to me...are you prepared to deal with 20+ shorts?
EDIT: Are you taping the cartridge to the batteries? ....

Ooh, sorry, I didn't read over that well enough. Sorry about that. But yeah, for those plugs I just wiggled them to get them loose and them pulled them out by the wires.

Re: led modded psone screen question
This is something where you have to be VERY careful... 6. Look for the ribbon cable clamp on the back of the board, as seen in Figure 4-23. Place one edge of a thin flat-head screwdriver under the brown tab on one side. Slowly twist your screwdriver so that the edge of the screwdriver head lifts up ...

I'm sorry - I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but is it a 2k or a 2.2k resistor that you need to get 3.3v?

Man, now I wish I hadn't screwed up that Gamecube and bought the 11.1v stuff...oh well, I'm really just stuck with this stuff right now. I'll do this one and be smarter about it with the next N64p

Re: What all for N64p -
Perfectly fine with that, I actually prefer it just because it makes me feel like I'm actually playing an N64 . ONE MORE QUESTION, hahah: Are there only 6 traces to connect, or is that just for simplicity in the diagram?
