Re: Fixing a smoking Game Gear
sorry, misread what you had posted. I didn't catch the part where you actually turned it on with it open.. for the sake of having some fun, throw a couple heat sinks on them :P don't do that, it'll probably break things. short of finding either a working game gear to test on to get the values, or a ...

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
yeah it looks like they did away with the 2nd pin points on the 1.6. BTW I wasn't suggesting that you re-do any work, was just trying to pass on some info as an FYI. In re: PicoPSU - there is a reason why everyone uses them with the original xbox -- It works. It pumps enough power to turn the box on...

Re: Fixing a smoking Game Gear

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
so what kind of power supply would you use rather than a pico? They seem to be fairly straight forward in their application and work well... btw, you can (I believe) rebuild the 2nd fan connector on the 1.6... been a while since I looked at the board, but i think that it is still there, just need to...

Re: Gebby's Slim Xbox Laptop
wondering why you married the two heatsinks together rather than just plugging them both into the xbox itself....

Re: 3PS60 Controller, Wired 360 controller in PS3 shell
Nice work RDC. I'm frightened to watch the countdown before these appear at various Chinese knock off sites. How much did it cost to get the board put together? Can it be made easier by having some of the smaller components done by the place that prints the boards? I realize that some of the compone...

Re: Xbox; Modchip or softmodding?
Sorry for taking so long to respond. If you are using xbox ver 1.0 - 1.5 you should TSOP flash it. It gives the same results as a mod chip but doesn't cost you a dime. On top of that, it's fairly simple to do. If you are using xbox ver 1.6, you *might* want to chip it. The only advantage to chipping...

Re: unlock xbox hdd
Sorry, sorry.. should have been on here a while ago to answer this. download a copy of xboxhdm (xbox hard drive manager) and in the readme it should tell you where to place the file eeprom.bin. there is an option (also covered in readme) to unlock the hdd. I think it is unlockhd -e.... can't remembe...

Re: X360 Key Custom Case Mod PC Case Mod Xbox Slim
really interested to see how the water block mounts to that. May want to consider doubling your stand offs if you think that you will need space for cables and etc. I would consider putting double stand offs on it and drilling some holes in the bottom of the case, adding a 120 or 80 fan on the botto...

Re: I have no experience....
portables are something that is very easy to break the entire project with. I suggest starting with something smaller, maybe get an old xbox and TSOP it and etc first. Wire up your own switch for AV and put in place your own AV ports in the back. This is stuff that is directly transferable (knowledg...

Re: XBOX problem
Yeah it sounds to me like it *could* be the port. Grounding out the pins in that guide will tell you for sure whether it is the physical port itself, or if it is some other portion of the device that is causing you grief. I'm hoping for the best on your behalf, but this is probably 50/50. BTW, if it...

Re: XBOX problem
sorry for the delay in posting this. I try to help when/where I can with all things xbox. I would suggest playing a little bit of solder work to try to resolve this one. There is a A/V pinout that I'll link to at the bottom of this message. Try grounding an AV point so that the xbox thinks that it i...

Re: Xbox 360 Controller Mods Galore!
@RDC - just goes to show what happens when i don't visit XBS in a few weeks. Big news in the 360 world, not surprising though since the last few months have a few youtube vids showing slims running Xellous and etc. Just your opinion (and I know it's hard to say since this hack isn't mainstream yet) ...
