Re: Splitting Gateway 1775w Power/Inverter Board
It's possible to ditch it. I'll post a guide up on the bare minimum you need for wiring the Gateway 1775w soon. You need to connect the 5v, 12v, and Ground to the driver board where it's labelled on the pinout. Then you need to connect the VADJ, VOn/Off, 12v, and Ground from the driver board to wher...

Re: Has ups lost your stuff?
USPS actually hasn't had any federal funding since the '80s, so I wouldn't exactly say they're socialist shipping, especially seeing as they don't charge different rates to people with different incomes. It's kind of a funny situation. They're not funded by the government, but more like a self sust...

Re: Planning Xbox 360 Laptop, have some questions.
Yeah, the problem is that I don't know how much the 360 or the monitor need from that 5v line. I was debating just using a spare 7805 regulator and wiring it up to the 12v line going to the monitor so that you'd get at least an amp from that and not take the chance of stressing the 360's 5v line. Wo...

Re: Good, durable case?
You could most certainly use an LCD TV instead, but I'm pretty sure they're almost always a lot thicker than monitors. And I'm almost positive the power supply wiring would be different.

Re: Planning Xbox 360 Laptop, have some questions.
The Jasper 360's power supply puts out 150w, which is more than enough to run the 360 unit by itself. I stumbled across THIS site showing that even when playing graphically intense games like Halo 3 and Gears 2, the draw was just under 106w. It's common practice for companies to include a power supp...

Actually, he's said he doesn't like N64's and he'd charge a couple thousand just to do one of those... unless he was exaggerating.

Re: Good, durable case?
Pelican cases can be cheap. If you don't mind used, you can get them for pretty cheap on ebay.
There's also these kind. They're not as stylish, but they get the job done.
Try Google Shopping for that stuff and you can usually find a good deal.

Re: Has ups lost your stuff?
UPS jaaacked up the Xbox 360 Laptop I sent to weaver. Case was cracked and ports were smashed in. Even some buttons broke off. I even paid extra to have them pack it for me and have it rated as "super fragile", but alas, it wasn't enough to handle their shipping methods. He opted to repair it himsel...

I believe they said that while it's the same style graphics as the NES, its too robust to be ported directly to an NES. Also, it's probably time to stop expecting games to come out on the Gamecube.

The spinning pictures blew my mind. I thought I was done being amazed, but then they started waving.
But for reals, I hate Michael Jackson and I want that case.

and thin equals less. I'm a fan of regular myself, but since that's not an option, I guess I'll go with deep dish.
