Re: SNESP Progress
Thank you. I started in early January. The majority of the work time was spent on the case.

Re: SNESP Progress
I rewired the ground and everything works now. All the games I own, including starfox, run fine.

Re: SNESP Progress & Problem
Well, searching around I found a post by Life of Brian about the snes diagram being incorrect in Ben's Book. http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?p=350589#p350589" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So apparently the ground is actually the smaller pad? Yikes, that means I've wired grou...

SNESP Progress
So, I've started a SNES portable recently. This is the first time I've owned a snes, although I used to play it often at a friends house back in the 90's. I used a ZN-40 case from polycase.com. (Original, isn't it? Hey, it looks good and that's all that matters) Using bondo putty (comes in a huge ja...

Re: Completed PsoneP
Thanks. Balsa is cheap, light weight, easy to cut. It is also sturdy when used right. I know someone else could make a better looking case with balsa than I did with more sanding.

Re: A few questions
Sorry for the late response, I've been out of state for a few days.
Here is the same model ps2 being disassembled:

Re: A few questions
I found an article on it:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/06/sony ... price-cut/
The article talks about the japan ps2, but I do have the us version. It looks exactly as pictured.

A few questions
1. My ps2 slim does not have an external adapter like Ben described with his model. Instead of the yellow plug, it has the same power out as the original bulky ps2. Will this make portablizing it harder? 2. I plan on using seven of these in a series: http://www.onlybatteries.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=...

Re: Completed PsoneP
I never thought it'd be on a site like gizmodo.
I don't think its that ugly in person; it doesn't look like a cake.
Ahh well, thanks everyone for the comments.

Re: Completed PsoneP
Yeah, its not the prettiest thing, but it works well.
The screen is not LED modded, but I still get nearly 4 hours off of the battery.

Completed PsoneP
PsoneP My first psonep I made a year ago had problems that I wished to fix, with low battery life and hard to press buttons. The shoulder buttons were also broken. So in late December of 08, I started work on a whole new one. The casing is made of nearly all balsa wood. I did however use the plasti...
