Re: Cart emulator progress thread
I got my 64drive just the other day, plopped in a 4gb cf card and I've got tons of games on it. I have a question for Marshall: Is it possible to play the 40 Winks (leaked final build of a game that went unreleased) PAL rom (there doesn't seem to be a leaked NTSC variant) on my NTSC console? If I ru...

Re: WTB: Silicon Graphics Hardware
Makes sense......its just that the people on eBay sell them for like 600+ dollars in the delusional belief that a computer bought more than 10 years ago will hold even a fraction of its value. Do you know of a forum that specializes in this sort of thing? (I scoured eBay and Craigslist prior to post...

The disc is pristine. I have tested the player with multiple discs; at this point Indiana Jones is the only disc that works properly.

WTB: Silicon Graphics Hardware
Seeking old SGI towers, ideally non-functional ones along the lines of a SGI 540 workstation. I intend to do a case mod and build a modern pc in the case.
Thanks,
Reuben

Be a pal, help me solve my dvd player problem
With most DVDs my player fritzes out like this. The widescreen version of Indiana Jones is the first disk I've played that hasn't. It doesn't seem to be an interference problem (I have tried using the player several feet away from the Television). The Television is a Sony Trinitron KV-2080r, the DVD...
Re: Debate on tv quality, need 3rd party opinion
I find that even the better (read: more expensive) LCD sets have terrible deinterlacing. I've seen a 55 inch Sony Bravia that makes it look like you're watching cable through a chain link fence.

7800 is a pretty good choice for early 80s gaming at home. If you are really dedicated to the arcade cab idea it may be worth looking at making a mame cab or getting a JAMMA multicart though.

Hey Shockslayer,
Do I get a discount if I buy the gameshark, Genesis, genesis controller, and sharkpad? Just kidding (unless you'll actually do that). Any idea what the shipping will be like to NYC?

Re: Third party RAM expanders vs. Genuine Nintendo Expansion Pak
I have heard many reports of the Yobo expanders bricking n64s but I've been using a retro-bit pack (I checked and its a single 4mb chip) and it's given me no problems (gets hot though and its heat sink is a joke).
