No. The $100 price refers to the price when bought in bulk . For the average consumer who wants to buy just one, it will probably be around $350. I'm pretty sure they aren't going to sell in bulk to any commercial retailers, either. They aren't look to give us charity, we hardly need it. The idea be...

Arithmetic is picky about using brackets, so: #!/bin/bash d6=$[ ( $RANDOM % 6 ) +1 ] r=$[ $d6 * 3 ] echo $r But if you did it this way, there would be some numbers (11, 13, etc.) that would never get rolled, since you are multiplying one die by 3. Wouldn't it be better to have 3 dice rolled, so you ...

Programming Challenges... Again
Alright, so I slacked off last time. Summer always seems to make me lazier than ever, and I guess I just stopped adding new ones. Well now I'm back and better than ever, coming at you with Programming Challenge 2.0 . Can be written in any language, I will only judge Java, C, and C++. Here goes: Prog...

There are several instances of that. For example, there is a Pink Floyd song that includes some gibberish at one point and if you play it backwards it says something like, "Congratulations! You found the secret message!" ^^ Yeah I'm pretty sure that was either Empty Spaces or Run Like Hell. Some so...

Back in elementary school, we would play with a parachute in PE, and we'd lift it in the air, pull the outer rim down behind us and sit on it. It was so cool, it would stay filled for like 5 minutes if nobody was stupid and got up. Man we used to do that too, like once a month or something. I never...

iBook G4's are crappily built, I think. I'm typing on one now. I just wish apple had used a sturdier plastic, or metal. One drop broke the internal chassis of mine, and it's never been the same. Easiest thing to do would be just drop it. If he really just wants his parents to get him a new laptop, h...

Usually that happens when something shorts out and one of the power lines traces are left with that scorch. Yeah, that's what I figured, but this is on the video board, away from the AC in, away from even where the power board is plugged into the video board. I think something overheated and melted...

On a related topic, you know the little two linnes screens for use with pics right? Can you use them over a computers serial (i don't see why not) to display the cpu temp and other info? C++ all the way! Parallel LCD's are cheaper and do the same thing, but serial lcd's will work too. Just hook up ...
