@Red5 - Hmm...you could be correct, my MegaCD might simply be FUBAR... The ASIAN MegaCD in question usually powers up 'briefly' (1 sec.) when I switch on the attached ASIAN Megadrive...then powers off... :? However, the guy I bought it off says that when he tested it, it wouldn't even power on...

@Red5 - Whoa! You sure can keep up with Radica news...I didn't even know about the Codemasters Radica deal! Oh and thanks for the link to Eidolons Inn... @goodie - the jump sound in Sonic 2 is 'really quiet' due to the crappy mixing-amp IC used by the Radica unit. I know, as I have pl...

Well, my ASIAN megadrive arrived...so time for more news... :D 1. The Radica ROM doesn't work in here either (so it's not ASIAN region...) :?: 2. My ASIAN Mega CD is faulty... I'm not sure what's wrong with it at the moment...going to do some checking with a multimeter... :? If anyone knows wh...

@SgtBowhack - Yup, I still have the old ROM from my JAP Radica stored in a bag. I'm not too sure it'll work like the U.K. one did though, as it did not de-solder as easily (been heated somewhat). :? It might be easier for you to start with a 'fresh' glop-ROM from a JAP Radica... Also I...

@Red5 - Hmm...maybe UCON might work, dunno? I could try it I guess... :? Oh and I know about the MegaCD cable (saw it somewhere else in the forum). I own an ASIAN (RARE) MegaCD - but I'm still waiting for my ASIAN Megadrive to arrive in the post! Might give it a try when I get everythi...

The Tototek reader/writer will ONLY read/write to the 'special' flash card it comes with! If you want to backup carts you'll need a backup device! (I wouldn't be speculating if I could have already dumped the cart!) :P Time will tell - if I can either get my hands on an old backup cart,...

True, true! (anyone for a Budweiser - LOL!) It could also be a Brazilian MD...there are actually many regions! :P USA / JAPAN / EUROPE / ASIA / BRAZIL / FRANCE / HONG KONG  And yes, it did kind of suck that my Quackshot was a dead cart... ...but on the bright side I can play the R...

@Red5 - yah, I get what Devster was saying in his forum about using a higher VCC point instead of the one from thr Radica 'spot'. :? So, yes - I'm currently using the 3.30v VCC from thr ROM spot. :? Also checking to see if any pins on the Radica are remaining in a high (+ve) or low (-ve) voltage sta...

@SgtBowhack - you are correct in thinking that timing wouldn't be an issue with the Radica! :) I've tested the 'compatible' Sonic 2 cart on a REAL Genny in UK/PAL mode and on the Radica... ...if the timing were different, then the Demo's would "screw-up" on the Radica. This is not the case th...

Okay folks - more food for thought! Right, everyone knows that Sonic 2 is NOT a region locked cart...therefore my JAP Sonic 2 'should' have worked with my modded Radica. :? But WHY doesn't it? :?: Well, it's something to do with the ROM chip used... :o If I test both the U.K. and JAP Sonic 2 ...

Might take you up on that sometime in the not 'too' distant future! I can't do any more modding for a couple weeks though - as I have a lot of work for my University course to finish off (assignments, etc...) I'm studying "Computing BSc (Hons)" at Northumbria Uni. in Newcastle Upon Tyne...

@Red5 - yup, it was flashed with a SINGLE ROM only (and the menu is part of the cart HARDWARE, so it's not like I have a choice!) Oh and it's REALLY easy to use - the software is straight froward too! (with a 'real' MegaDrive, of course!) :D If you get a Tototek flashcart - get it DIRECT from...

@makuraken - nope! the new 6-button Radica isn't released quite yet! :? @Red5 - Tried flashing my 64Mb Tototek cart with smaller ROM's, and the result...didn't work! :( I did however find out that "Toy Story" is 32Mb - so if this works there 'might' be a chance that the 32Mb flash cart MAY work (may...

Okay folks Q/A time and some more interesting stuff! :D @m0nk3y - the 32x will probably NEVER work, as the Radica is not only missing two of the required address lines - but you'd also need to be able to connect ALL of the cart slot pins for the 32x to work! (frankly it's amazing that the Radi...
