Re: My First Portable - The N65
I'm actually trading an old iPod touch for a cart-slot-relocated mobo, then I'll just be doing it with that one.

Re: Select Cartridges Have No Video
Also, it could be your screen. I had a screen which would run Quarteback Club '98 perfectly fine, but then would only show bits and pieces of star wars pod racing (or whatever it's called). What kind of screen do you have?

1st Generation 16GB iPod Touch
I have one I want to trade, it's in pretty good shape (a little bit of wear around the edges, I've opened it up a couple of times) and the battery doesn't last very long, at the wifi doesn't work very well (but does at least work, I mean, I CAN see networks). Screen is flawless, comes with a little ...

He's saying your diagram is good and you're good to go - I'm not so sure. Will that battery fit inside the power converter box the n64 uses?

Both look just fine, though I think you might be able to do it for cheaper if you buy 2 3.7v 5000mAh cells, then use a protection circuit. Your choice, though.

I can't find where in that topic you found the diagram, but from what I remember/know off hand, that looks right.

Re: PSone screen grainy/line-y
Well, I think there are 1 of 2 things going on: 1. Bending cables might be a problem, and you could get a little bit of interference from that. Worth a check, at least. 2. RF interference - this one's trickier to solve. I'd suggest a grounded layer of tinfoil between two plastic sheets to try and bl...

As long as it can put out 3.3v pretty efficiently, it ought to work.

Re: My First Portable - The N65
Well, tried a new game cart and a confirmed-to-work power supply. It's dead, I'm almost positive. Anybody need/want parts?

TI PTH08080 and I wouldn't suggest just using any batteries, because they would die quite fast. Here's a calculator to help you determine how long batteries last in the n64:

Re: Wondering how I can do a mod to my n64 to run off batteries
OK, that makes things easier - you only have to worry about the n64. I would suggest taking the power supply brick (a dead one you don't use), taking it apart, putting batteries and a regulator in there, then closing it all up.

Re: Wondering how I can do a mod to my n64 to run off batteries
Hmm... you could possibly take the power supply (the power cord, thing) and use the box to house batteries and a converter... if you wanted somebody to do it for you, I would be willing to. Then you'd just need a way to power the screen.

Re: My First Portable - The N65
I don't have another jumper, but I can try a different game. All my connections are good and it's been sitting off power for over 12 hours, now, I'll give it another shot soon. How hot would the RCP (middle chip, right?) get if it was fried? Too hot to touch?
