Re: Runix
Well, here's an honest question. I can see the advantage to running Linux on a PS2 or PS3. You can put a hard drive in a PS2, and a PS3 already has one. The PS2 benefits from this advantage because you can develop applications for the PS2 in this manner, but it's a HIDEOUS procedure... hideous. Much...

Re: "Art" (Possibly large images, 56k beware!)
That's a GREAT illustration from 300, Valium... very nice. I don't do freehand, but I have a love of various forms of 3d art, if it counts. I started out in terrain-generation software, which is incredibly easy to use once you get used to the respective program's interface, and thus I consider them ...

Re: i got shot
I commend you on the ability to let things go, and glad to see you're not going to lose the eye. Docs say anything about losing eyesight at all? I would think you'd have some distortion going on, for at least a while. The great thing about the eyes is that they are the fastest-healing organ in the b...

I am home from surgery. Went way easier than expected. I am laid up on the couch for the day, perhaps tomorrow as well, we shall see.
I'm off for the next 11 days, so work on the portable shall continue once I don't feel like I got hit by a truck.

Not that I'm likely to ever have a reason to care, but what's the big advantage with digital over analog in this case? Are we seeing HD quality signal or what?
Re: Windows 7

A particularly vivid dream in which one may or may not be able to control the flow of things, and subject typically is aware that they are sleeping.
Can be very fun, though I had a couple years when I was younger when I had them, and they ... were not fun at all.

Right at the power switch will be fine. Just be absolutely sure you have everything connected right, and remove the switch. Saves space that way anyway.

Re: My first Portable, N64p
Oh my god yes.
They are unbelievably handy to have around. They're better suited for smaller projects, the N64 board is a bit large and heavy for such an instrument, but for just about anything else they're fantastic. You'd probably appreciate having one when you get your voltage regulator.

Re: Questions (AKA I'm dumb)
Well, they are, obviously. Just not considerably so. :) Voltage on capacitors doesn't particularly matter, as long as the rated voltage EXCEEDS the maximum voltage of the intended circuit. In other words, don't use a 10v cap on a 12v circuit, or they make great noises and then don't work very well. ...

Thanks for the support, guys
The wife'll have to put up with me for a whole week, but at least I'll be set to go before she gives birth to our third child. That actually means good things for the portable when that happens... 3 a.m. nights for me for a while.

It's "just" hernia repair surgery, so nothing too major. They say I'll be back to work in a week. Only time shall tell, I suppose. I admit, I'm a bit freaked out, as I'm a "virgin," as my surgeon put it.

Re: The eN64p STATUS: Finalizing case. Total cost: $134
With upcoming surgery and other life issues, I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on it. I have been slowly hacking at the case, but nothing major so far to report - plan on hitting this hard soon. I'm disappointed at not being able to finish this by my deadline, but then, that's not exactly un...

Re: Dangers of a pre-paid credit card?
They'll probably have some nominal service charge, like a money order, but by and large, they act just like a gift card - balance remains the same, no monthly service fee or anything.
