well, the issue happened when i was messing with the controller port while the power was still on :oops: . i was fiddling with a knife when i shorted out the 3 wires for the controller. Just wondering, does anyone know what really happens when the N64 "frys"?
and im not talking about the fuses burning out which can be fixed but when the N64 is really dead.

I dont really want to draw out my diagram but I think you are over doing the wiring. you dont need a switch between the two because if you just sodered the battery pack inputs directually to the bottem of the motherboard where most people do, you dont need a switch between the 2. just make shur ...

I'm pretty sure my N64 is dead. im inputing the right voltage in the right slots, I checked all 11 fuses on the console. all that happens when I turn it on is the power LED comes on and the video and audio on the TV its attached to spike, that is, the screen flashes once and the speakers click... th...
