So, you're saying you'd pay $2500 for a game instead of $50?64M320N3 wrote:Which makes almost no sense. People with an arcade cabinet should have more money than the average joe.
Whoa, super bump. Apparently nobody really posts in here because this was already on the top of the list.

Re: N64 Portable
Why not just use the free samples? They don't check to see if you have a real business. Even I managed to get some.

Re: One handed controller for disabled son
I really hope this works out. I like the numchuck idea the best. I say get rid/forget the d-pad. Not enough games use it. You could also make the base of the joystick strap to his left leg for stability. And he can use his right hand right? you could maybe use another joystick straped on the right ...

Pretty nice! Don't like having two different colors for the same thing (headphone jacks), but I'm just nitpicky.

Re: Do we have room for another N64P? (t64 WIP)
The biggest problem I find with Eagle is that it is cumbersome and counterintuitive. I could elaborate but I don't feel like it right now. I used expressPCB for a while before upgrading to DipTrace, which is what we use at school. DipTrace is a lot more powerful and compatible, and comparable to Eag...

This project is really awesome.
I hate Eagle though.

What a jerkwad! Sueing game companies with no real basis in reality, then suing facebook because somehow angry comments cause harm.

I like the joystick style controller, but they are all good ideas.

Re: Notebook 64 (Worklog)
I use a 25W WP25 from Weller for everything. It's really great and is fine. It only has trouble on really big connections.
A solder sucker is probably the best desoldering tool. Braid only works on very small connections with almost no solder.

Re: New guy needs help.
I cut off the ports with a hacksaw.
Also, get rid of the metal shielding and get some proper heatsinks. And the thing about the N64 being incompatible is just for the RGB mod. If you stick with composite video it will be fine.

Re: Powering the Dreamcast
The picoPSU is the usual way to do it but not strictly necessary. The Dreamcast require 3.3V, 5V, and 12V. In reality the 12V line will run on power as low as 7.4V, so you can connect your 12V battery directly to it (I think). You can get 3.3V and 5V using TI cards or other regulators. Then again, t...

That is a beautiful portable, well done. Don't worry, I'm sure someone will buy it, especially if you fix the audio.
