Re: Blinking Red Light on N64? HELP
Also, are you powering it off batteries/regulator? if you are, listen closely to the regulator for a ['clicking' noise.

+1 for Avert, got a working cart slot relocation (roughly 8") and fast, great to deal with.

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
Just roughly knowing the kind of person Marshallh is (I haven't been here long, don't know him super well), and to be sure that I am NOT putting words into his mouth or making promises on his behalf, but if there's a faulty component on it, just like if something went wrong with a portable somebody ...

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
From what I can tell about the other one, the 'deluxe' version is looking to be about the same price as Marshallh's, and it takes longer to load each game (10-20 seconds, as I understand), AND they can't blay Banjo Tooie or Jetforce Jemeni (spelling?). They also have a sketchy SD interface or someth...

Re: N64 Battery Life Calculator
Just bumping this - trying to get better accuracy, has anybody tried this recently? If you have a portable and would be willing to test this, I'd appreciate it - just tell me how much the calculator says you should get battery-life wise, and how much you actually get. Thanks! Any other suggestion/co...

Re: What do you guys know about AVRs?
If you've got a little bit of cash to spare, adafruit.com sells an Open-source hardware device called an "Arduino" (Are-dwee-no) which is a really, really nice introduction to AVR's and the combination of hardware/software in general. I've got the most recent model (I got a 'Starter Kit' and a full-...

Re: should I use a boost converter?
Kind of a necro here, but simple power tutorial: A (Amperage) * V (Voltage) = W (Wattage). What you asked for your device you want to power was 12v at 9Ah (Amp-hours), 12*9 = 108. That means every hour, your device will use 108W - in another notation, your device uses 108Wh (Watt-hours). If you want...

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
BEAUTIFUL!
Question, though -- was the USB interface dropped? Or is there still a way to connect to it via USB without removing the CF card? (I'd want to embed one of these permanently in my portable, then just plug in a USB cord to change the ROMs on it...)

3.5" N64 Screen Fail
I had a problem with one of theses screens recently, and I think I know why... As I understand it, the n64 outputs it's video in 240p, and most TV's simply interpret that and use it as 480i. These cheap screens don't. Anybody here good with screens and knows a way to convert 240p to 480i with an inl...

Re: Quick Question *Important*
I may see a problem:
The 'missing' pin, (it's got 48 pins, though room for 50? The missing part), the pin on top immediately to the right of that 'missing' one, looks like it MIGHT be touching the ground plane, which appears to be showing through.

That certainly looks like the easy way to do it.... I've already contacted somebody who will be trading me, but I might buy that for my next portable. We'll see how things go.

Re: IMPORTANT - Forums compromised, please change your password
Hey, guys? Looks like something's up again, I tried logging in here and on MBB, (I was already logged in on MR) and it gave me a 'maximum login attempts exceeded' deal. Anybody else get it recently?
