Re: Project SGP-1 *UPDATE 3/13/10*
This weekend I finally had the time to finish this guy up. I added a reset button and a low battery led. The low battery circuit I used can be found here: http://www.iroquois.free-online.co.uk/lithled.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I got the IC from a really cool place on the eas...

Re: Project SGP-1 *UPDATE 2/21/10*
Well it rained pretty much all day today in OH and what's the best thing to do on a rainy day? OK, what's the 2nd? :) Play video games of course. The 3rd? Mod stuff. So that's what I did. I'm 99% finished with Project SGP-1. I just want to add a reset button. Here's some quick pics I took. Better pi...

I got the batteries from batteryspace about 8 months ago. I don't think they sell these anymore.

Today I decided to wire up the controls. Used some 30 awg hdd cable. Scrap the traces to expose some copper. Tin it and then tin the end of the cable and use some light duty solder and you're good to go. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g157/wiz-dawg/videogames/052e72cf.jpg http://i55.photobucket.c...

Re: What game system should i start portabilizing?
For some reason this question seems to appear every 2 weeks or so. Here's my suggestion... pick a system you really like... an N64, dreamcast, dreamcast of N64, whatever. Read the forums, check out other modder's worklogs, gather enough tools to get started. Start tearing the system apart. Start mak...

Re: battery question
That charging circuit looks big and overly complicated.
You could just take out the batteries and buy a cheap protection circuit from batteryspace and connect the batteries to it.

Re: Genesis 2 cart slot questions
It appears B05 goes to something (A10), so you should probably try and connect it.

Re: Project: Unity
Looking good! If you get this done by MGC I'd definitely buy a couple from you. I have a couple spare 2600 boards collecting dust. Looks like the board could fit inside an original Gameboy shell.

Re: Project SGP-1 *UPDATE 1/24/10*
Thanks for the nice comments. I like to use 2 part epoxy to fill in bigger holes. My favorite is RepairitQuik. I got it at Home Depot but it looks like they don't sell it anymore, so I bought AquaMend, It's made by the same company. However to me, it doesn't seem to cure as hard. The trick is to use...

Very, Very Impressive.
Since you went to the trouble of adding A/V out, curious why you didn't add an on/off screen to power off the screen. Also I can't live without a reset switch. But I'm really just nitpicking... awesome job!

Re: Case Ideas
I have one of those digital makeover things. I think it may be a little thin for our uses. But I do like the shoulder buttons. Also the Datamax v.1 is a lot better. I really like these cases. http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Tiger/7in1.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.handh...
