Re: Has the Retro Duo been discontinued?
Probably supplanted by the three-in-one type units (NES, SNES, and Genesis/MegaDrive).

Re: Why the Gameboy Color cannot be backlight.
Try either flipping over the polarizer, or rotating it 90 degrees if you're still interested in playing with it.

Yes. Depending on the signal type, several meters. Yes. Yes. A knife.

Re: Wii Remote and Nunchuck in an X360 Controller Shell
You'd probably need to use one of the mini-wiimotes, as I don't think the full size controller board will fit into the 360's controller's shell without a fair bit of cutting. What are you going to do with the IR sensor? Most games need it to select menus at the very least.

Re: hacking a psone screen for a dvd player monitor?
The quick way is to get a 1/8" to Stereo RCA adapter or a Sony A/V cable for camcorders if you need stereo sound. For the Stereo cable (has two plugs, one red, one white), one plug (I forget which one) will work as video, and the other as sound for one speaker. For the Sony A/V cable, just match up ...

Re: hacking a psone screen for a dvd player monitor?
Does the volume bar come up when press the volume buttons? You don't need the bridge if so. The main problem looks to be that you're attempting to put composite in through the PSOne connector, and it only uses RGB from that port. To run composite through it, you need to tap into the A/V in 1/8" port.

Re: Nintendo 3DS second slide pad and Wii Slim
The Wii Slim is being built for the same reason as the PS3 Slim and XBox 360 Slim, to reduce costs to lower price to attract new users. To be able to fit 3" discs the drive mechanism has to be more complex than if it just took regular DVD discs, which means it costs more to make, and will have more ...

Re: Upgrading Android Tablet to 3.2?
No 3. 0 is only for the fancy devices whose manufactures have paid Google to have it before everyone else. Once Google releases 3.0 to everyone, you might be able to upgrade it, but it's very likely that you'll have to do it manually and it will be a user porting it to that device, not the manufactu...

Re: C-sync and composite
That probably would work. You could always look up the datasheets for the chips on it if in doubt, though it's unlikely to damage the board if it can't use composite video for composite sync.

Re: DVI to VGA DIY Cable?
You need access to the pins inside the DVI connector to set it to analog mode, IIRC, you can't just lop off the end of the cable, as that pin isn't wired in a DVI cable most times. You could try asking for one from a local small computer shop, they should have quite a few laying around that they'd s...

Re: black triangle on early model trinitron
It is fairly normal, most likely some caps have leaked or dried out and need replaced. Very common on arcade monitors, and they sell 'cap kits' for specific monitors to fix issues like these. Though probably not your consumer TV, but you might check repair parts vendors just in case.

Re: Best battery for high capacity / high discharge.
For that application I'd recommend... fire. Something butane based should be able to do that well and be nice and compact, with just a simple valve to control the heat. If you need precision control, a microcontroller connected thermal sensor and an actuator could be programmed to handle it. Either ...

Re: PS3 to VGA - The easiest way to connect a monitor to a PS3
Unfortunately, we can't give specific compatibility advice - the only way to find out really is to try the cable. It does not have a transcoder built in, though, as this cable simply outputs the normal console output through a VGA port relying on the monitor to interpret it correctly. This way it d...

Not just any emulator, an emulator in another emulator! You don't even have to worry about things like stability or usability, as it has neither!Kumimono wrote:So, a jailbroken (I hate that term) iPad can play emulators? Who woulda thunk.
