Re: The Definitive NOAC pinout/information document!
I hate to dig up an old thread, but it seems the link for the second document is dead. Does anyone have a copy?

So what you are saying is that when you press the dpad, it also jumps? Sounds like a bridged connection somewhere.

Re: How to buy or make a shock proof enclosure?
I would probably try to suspend everything inside an enclosure with rubber bands. Should be able to take quite a beating I would think.

Re: Flashing NES
Did you disable the lockout chip? Sometimes, but disabling the lockout chip, it can fix the flashing problems caused by flaky connections. It may sound weird, but I recently read about a way to restore old connectors by boiling them and then putting them in an oven on low heat. This was from the nin...

Re: Which consoles haven't been portablized?
My first computer/console was a coco II. I've never seen anyone portablize it. It would definitely be best suited as a laptop, and I really doubt anyone would spend the time or money it would take to do it.

That's pretty awesome! Hows the quality? Have you noticed any problems playing any games? I might have to pick me up one of those.

Re: any pins on the NES Cartridge never/rarely used?
I can't confirm this, but if you use a NES with a modified lockout chip (pin 4 lifted) it may not need it either. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.Metallica Man X wrote:There's a bunch on there that are for the lockout chip--these don't get used on anything but the original NES. So they're generally useless.

Re: One of my Cousins died last night :'(
Fuuuucking ATVs. I am related to two people who have died on ATV's in the United States (both were under 10). I'm pretty sure it is against the law to drive them without a license here in Canada. With the growing amounts of injury and death related to ATV accidents, you would think they would do so...

Re: The Tinypnes worklog
Did you run into any obstacles when you cut it down? Were any relocations/jumpers required? The reason I ask, is in my future project, there will be little room for an original NES motherboard. Would you be able to take a close pic of the motherboard and the dimensions?

Re: Snes powerpak from RetroUSB
No disrespect meant, WhatULive4. This is an interesting item, but I just hate that they overprice their items on things not THAT many people are interested in. It's not really supporting of any kind of community (Old-school gaming, SNES/NES game programming and designing), they're just trying to ma...

Snes powerpak from RetroUSB
The Snes powerpak is now officially available from retrousb.
Get it HERE!
It doesn't support every snes game ( including starfox ) but if you buy the DSP1 chip with it, there are only a handful of incompatible games.
