Re: xBook Worklog (need advice please!)
I never found a wireless controller that I liked for the xbox. They all were a little too flakey and just didn't do a good job with a few seconds delay. I know that there are "some" out there that are supposed to be good, but I haven't encountered them. Not that I'm looking hard.. The logitech ones...

Re: xBook Worklog (need advice please!)
I noticed you don't really need the atx converter if you want to save some $$$. All you need is a regulator to step down the 5v standby (don't quote me on this!) to 3v then just wire everything else up. A quick google search should give you some schematics and such

Re: Xbox controller -> USB
It is a fairly simple process. Splice the xbox cable to a usb male connector; just match the colors and ignore the xboxs' yellow wire, it's useless for your purposes

Re: Xbox slim/laptop
Another late night update. Got the xbox wired up again, but it frags when booting iND bios and Evox bios, gives no video on stock bios (I may just get rid of this, it's kind of unnecessary), but boots perfectly into flashbios (thank god for that one!) EDIT: Flashbios actually can't flash TSOPs.... b...

Re: Xbox slim/laptop
Semi-update, got the xbox booting into raincoat. Patched up a new 1 meg bios image. Hopefully more than one bios sector will boot this time :D UPDATE: I finally got a CD-RW to read on my Thompson drive and I reflashed the TSOP. Now I need to re-solder the wires to access each bank because I don't ge...

Re: Xbox slim/laptop

Re: xBook Worklog (need advice please!)
I don't know about a battery or power brick, but that Pico PSU and the ATX converter from sickmods is a well know good ways to ditch the big xbox PSU. I myself, am going to do the same when I get the $$$

Re: Xbox slim/laptop
I actually just got another 1.0 xbox today, and I'm going to be flashing the TSOP and using that motherboard instead. I also need to worry about a PSU before I start to even think about a case. Considering the cost vs performance, I don't think I'm going to upgrade the CPU or RAM. Right now I also h...

Everything is still for sale, except for the case, I don't really feel like shipping that thing

Re: replacement CPU bracket for XBOX
I would like a picture of what you need, because I have lots of xbox parts, and I could just put the clip you need in an envelope and send it to you. Is it the actual bracket that attaches to the motherboard, or just the clip that holds the CPU heatsink on?

FS:Socket 478 Mobo+CPU+RAM
I have an old computer that I'm parting out with a socket 478 motherboard and CPU (will get details tomorrow) and RAM (will get details tomorrow). I know this is not worth much, just make me an offer and be prepared to pay shipping. Anything on this PC is for sale, but there is no hard drive, I dest...

Xbox slim/laptop
Okay everyone, I have a xbox that I have been tinkering on for well over a couple of years. My first mod was a TSOP flash, which I then proceeded to nuke. Bummer. Then I installed a LPC header and put in a DuoX2. I left it on the shelf for a while, then I attempted to fix the TSOP with a 29 wire mod...

Re: what should I do with the orginal xbox?
The problem with the sticky drive is the drive belt. It's a really cheap fix considering how great samsung drives are. What has become really popular in the xbox 1 scene is turning them into smaller, slim consoles by removing the DVD drive and swaping in a micro PSU. Other than that I guess you coul...
