Re: xbox laptop need help
Xbox requires too much power for a battery to keep it charged for more than an hour. It's not a laptop based design so it doesn't even attempt to limit it's power consumption. Also, to shrink the box down you are pretty much going to need more fans in it to lower the temps. Also -many- xbox laptops ...

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
perhaps eliminating one of the PSUs would resolve the issue. If memory serves me correctly, you didn't have the Amp to run both off of one PSU. you are at 7 A on a 12 V line... maybe try this http://www.mini-box.com/110w-12v-8-5A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and...

Re: Has anyone got/used/bought a Lian Li XB01 case yet?
a little late but everyone loves a good zombie thread. Map out where you want your xbox to go in the case, use a marker to mark through the various screw holes, remove the xbox, pull out your favourite drill and safety goggles (don't do this without protective lenses) and put your own holes in the c...

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
probably talking out of my @$$ but this seems to happen with a lot of portables and the only conclusion I can come to is that the video signals are affected by the "bounce" in available electrical current, since we often run so many extras essentially in series from point A to point D. adding ground...

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
You should probably try to connect it via VGA as well. It's probably the best that you can get out of the original xbox without hacking up a VGA -> DVI -> HDMI adapter (which probably wouldn't even work). I'm still holding out that you take the plunge on a 1.8 HDD and see if it can all run on the on...

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
the xbox doesn't like working with compact flash. The seek/read/write time is way off for some reason. The boys at the scene have discussed this quite a bit..
The smallest HDD that was found to work was the 1.8 HDD ripped from a zune. iPods use the same drives so I would imagine it would be all good.

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
Just a thought.... have you tried dropping the DVD out and checking how much power it takes? alternatively (and I know you don't want to hear it again) Power Requirements Idle Power Max. Power 1.8" 0.3 - 0.5 W ~ 3 W 2.5" 0.3 - 2.0 W ~ 5 W 3.5" 4-10 W ~ 20 W I'm sure that will result in a lower Amp u...

Re: xBook Worklog (ATX adaptor is finished! Pics inside...)
looking good, but I was thinking that you may want to shorten the cable length a little bit once the PICO shows up... I got a feeling that the wires are a little long.. If you can avoid the long wires then do so.. otherwise, it is looking decent. I would maybe look into boxing the adapter or taping ...

Re: Sega GameGear Problem?
In the interest of eliminating/identifying potential culprits, have you tried connecting the RCA to a TV and see if it turns on? have you tried more than one game? if I recall correctly the screens for the gear were kind of flaky to begin with. Maybe the LCD is shot...

Why would you want to run a P4 on a i7 to begin with? It would be like trying to put a 4 cylinder engine from a VW rabbit into a Ferrari....
