Re: A Retron 3 project, and a few queries...
I think the most challenging thing about running a website is actually getting a domain to use, because most are paid (and pricey). Actually designing a html page isn't too hard unless you get really fancy, I ran a simple web site for a club i was in when I was in high school and even with the tool...

Ace, have you ever considered making a resource website with all of these mods and discoveries for the different clones you have found? if you haven't, maybe you should, because you really know your stuff. As a matter of fact, yes. I have considering putting together a website which will be a big d...

Re: A Retron 3 project, and a few queries...
Been a long Time Ace_1 :) I kinda had a feeling you might be the one to provide help on this. That's what I'm here for. UGH... the version 3 consoles, what a letdown. I was surprised when I got it because I was expecting the version 2 that was supposed to play Castlevania 3, when this one...

Re: A Retron 3 project, and a few queries...
You've got the RetroN3 Version 3. I have one too; absolutely HATE the thing (worst RetroN3 hardware revision, if you ask me; it almost ranks on par with the FC3 Plus Version 1 which had A SLEW of compatibility issues with NES games, did not play Virtua Racing and did not play Master System games at ...

Re: Fc-twin compatability.
In that case, you're good. Carry on with your portable Super NES project. I must ask, though: what NOAC does your FC Twin use? The inaccurate one with reversed sound channel duties or the newer NOAC with accurate square waves? I'm asking this as the NES board from my old FC Twin no longer puts out a...

Re: Fc-twin compatability.
I'm making an snes portable so the nes half is of no use anyway. At least, you don't have to deal with the crap NOAC from the earlier models of the FC Twin. Though I must ask: have you seen any weird colors or excess smearing with Super NES games? In that video I linked, look at StarFox. Some color...

Re: Fc-twin compatability.
I had been keeping an eye out for an older non-yobo branded version and just had one used come in the mail today. Ugh... I wouldn't buy one of those. I heard reports of some of those older non-branded FC Twins having issues with cartridges containing co-processors(which I think is complete BS), but...

Re: Fc-twin compatability.
The FC Twin works with the three SuperFX games I own, which are StarFox, Doom and Stunt Race FX. The only carts with co-processors which give problems are those with the SA-1 co-processor as those can detect the presence of a lockout chip and refuse to run if they can't detect the chip is active. Un...

Re: SMS not booting correctly. (Blank Screen)..
I found that mod to be a waste of time. I tried it on my Sega Master System on which I've added S-Video and a PAL/NTSC switch, and I can only get the console to boot a game by first getting a card-based game to boot. Then, it boots everything I throw at it, but the system becomes insanely unstable w...

Re: SMS not booting correctly. (Blank Screen)..
Ok I may try the cutting but don't really want to but then again what do I have to loose... Another thought I had was to open up the Hang On/Safari Hunt and noticed the chip to be a 28 Pin MPR-10137. Can I not try replacing this chip with the MRP-10052 or is this just crazy talk? Thanks! Sorry for ...

Re: SMS not booting correctly. (Blank Screen)..
Is it possible to assume the 315-5124 (64 Pin IC) is the bios and pin 20 is the one to disconnect? I worry about the word assume thou, eg. ass/u/me :). That would be a major mistake. The BIOS is the MPR-10052 chip. You need to disconnect pin 20 on that chip, cut the trace linking pin 13 of the cart...

Re: SMS not booting correctly. (Blank Screen)..
How can I get the pics to you? I took 6 of them and they are a total of 1.4 Mb. Every pic I try to add it either says too big or quota has been reached... You could upload the images to ImageShack then link to them. Although with the information you've provided, I might have an idea what chip on yo...

Re: SMS not booting correctly. (Blank Screen)..
It sounds like your Master System's BIOS might be corrupt. I don't exactly know which chip on the motherboard holds the BIOS, but if I were you, I'd replace the BIOS chip. Could you open up your Master System and take a picture of the motherboard so I know which of my Master Systems to take apart an...

Re: FC 16 Go internal pics -- First Commercial Snes Portable
Dear Ace, do you find the place that the negative pin of capacitor should connect? I hope to make my FC-16 go to run the game with SA-1 chip. Many thanks. Not yet. My FC Twin is dead now(NES board has no more sound and all I get out of the Super NES board is a bunch of gray lines. I'd need to try u...
