Re: Sam's Back with a PSone Portable in the works
Time for a first update! The main parts of the case are pretty much starting to take shape now. Got the front and back panels done, cut, sanded, filed up and painted. Two coats of "mat Black" spray paint. The Front panel http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n19/Sam_thornley/PSone%20Portable/PA230008.j...

Sam's Back with a PSone Portable in the works
Hey everyone! Its been well over year since my last portable was completed way back in June 2008. So i thought maybe its about time i should start a new project. I was going to start a portable in early January of this year, but had to abandon that for the time being. Mainly because i was quite busy...

Re: DealExtreme 3.5" screen review --
Nice screen, picture looks great. :D Would anyone know if there is a PAL version available? You could probably adjust the contrast by looking at the datasheet for the controller chip (if there is one), as it looks like it is pre-set with resistors. Also its likely that the chip has RGB inputs. Just ...

Re: Console/Screen Voltage and mA Guide
Thanks for this excellent guide , i can confirm that a Sega megadrive/genesis 2 with the 7805 removed only requires 5v at 200mA. (i'm using a dc-dc convertor to supply the board with 5v where the 7805 was).

Re: PSOne / Zenith screen - on screen display?
The brightness adjustments on the psone screen only adjusts the brightness of the CCFL backlight. Adjusting the brightness on an led modded screen should not do anything. The "sub" brightness (the amount of light being let through the lcd) of the lcd pannel is pre-set.

Cool, i usually put the psone screens brightness up to about 80% and leave it at that. Its a bit too bright for me at 100%

A truely awesome portable! I'm drooling at your power board. I need to try having pcbs made sometime, as i usually build DC-DC convertors and audio amps on perfboard.

Re: How much electronics training/experience do you have?
I've had lots of electronics and soldering experience from an early age. My dad got me intersted at first when he was soldering some speaker conections or somthing like that, he decided to let me have a go. I was about 6 years old at the time. After that i became obsessed with "bulbs and batteries" ...
