havent heard of any performance issues, however some use 2 x 2MB chips instead of one 4MB one, not that big of deal

What about "hi-res" texture packs? Won't ever work in a million years. The N64 has 4 kilobytes of texture memory, this is a hardware limitation. No way to get around it. What if we did a ram swap and used the expansion pack? I'm not planning on doing this, but I was just curious. then youd ave 8kb ...
