Re: New DS Zelda...
Here's some of my Zelda ideas: Zelda: Modern Warfare- You play a soldier in the Hylian army when the Soviet Union invades. Cold-war atmosphere, lots of spook stuff. Well okay it isn't the worst abuse of two existing brand names (Zelda and CoD). SGZelda: Go from world to world to unlock the key to a...

Re: The Nintendo DSi
Not gonna bother. The cameras are a useless gimmick to me. The SD card slot is useless, I'd have to buy new accessories, I don't need a bigger screen, and I'd have to buy a new flashcart. Other than the cameras it doesn't do anything that my DS Lite+M3DS Real+Ram Pak doesn't do. And I'm too cheap t...

Re: New DS Zelda...
I don't mind a 19th century setting. But cartoony graphics+19th century do not mix. Make it darker, Victorian-esque, maybe even with a little steampunk. Maybe portray Hyrule as an industrialized nation. Gannon can attempt to take power. The Kokiri can be portrayed as hippies. That would be sweet. D...

Re: Anyone hear about Conficker?
You should be safe, just run the utility I linked to earlier to double-check. As long as your comp is fully up-to-date you shouldn't have an issue. What do you mean you "keep getting the virus scanner thing"? "Grinding noise"? That could be anything from a worn-out fan or worn hard drive bearings. ...

Re: New DS Zelda...
I'm skeptical, to say the least. First, a train? A friggin' train? No. Trains do not belong in Zelda; that totally ruins my perception of the games' time period, plus having something as purely mechanical and non-magical as that kind of ruins the established Zelda atmosphere... Agreed. Are they goi...

Re: Anyone hear about Conficker?
Funny, I thought Linux users loved text-mode interfaces! ;) :P Besides for basic tools like this, there's no reason to have a 400 MB GUI live CD, especially if it's a one-time job. There's also Darik's Boot and Nuke . I like this one, too. We used to use it all the time to quickly erase our removab...

Ick, that looks disgusting.bicostp wrote:You could try using something like the Ultimate Boot CD to perform a low-level wipe of the hard drive. If you do a full format with it, you should get a perfectly clean install.
Doesn't Backtrack accomplish the same thing?

Re: Anyone hear about Conficker?
@bic  are you that paranoid in life? It sounds like it  No, not really. Did you miss the part where I said I'm running an unpatched copy of XP Service Pack 1a ? I haven't even upgraded to Firefox 3 yet! If I was really paranoid, I'd do all my surfing on my old Quadra 650 with Nets...

Re: Anyone hear about Conficker?
Besides, quick thinking to cut it off before something potentially takes root is a lot easier than trying to clean it up after the fact. :P To everyone who has never been infected with anything significant before: Live by this. My family's windows box got infected with a particularly nasty virus an...

Yup, only been to acid mods once, and that was the first article. worlds biggest rick roll though...hmmm....I wonder.... Don't worry. It's not a rickroll No, they'll probably just do that fake virus protection and make you pay $50 then infect your system worse. Nah, it seems like something bigger t...

Anyone hear about Conficker?
Apparently there's a worm that has infected millions of computers across the globe and is going to activate on April 1. I'm sure the vast majority of people on this forum have nothing to worry about due to firewalls, malware removers, running linux/mac, etc. What do you think is going to happen? Inv...
