OK Here is what must be done. The DoctorV64, CD64, and DD64 all work on the same principle; they have a built in mobo(used for the menu and interpretting data), which interacts with the ROM filled CD inserted. I'd suggest removing the Extension Port anyways, because if you are moving the cart slot, it is easier to tie the pins to the outside holes. You also get an extra cart slot.

The easiest solution that I have found when moving the cartridge slot, is to leave the slot where it is, insert the contact portion of a broken(or crappy) game, solder IDE cable to back, and attach a homemade or adapted slot. Sounds like a lot, but takes about 20 minutes, rather than 3 hours.
