You can do some research for any ICs used, and find which pin is V+, then use a continuality or resistance tester to find out which input pin connects to that.

The reason you can't get video on the TV is because you need to connect video ground, as well as composite. Use the pinout on PoD.

You need a DC-DC convertor or regulator to bring the voltage down to 3.3V for the 3.3V line. Your battery will have to be atleast 7.2V for the 12V line.

You can use a GBA, but you have to keep the whole working unit in tact, and you need the AV adaptor.
