Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
Best comment I heard on another site was, "What, you play for a few minutes and then the cartridge pops out?" LOL! Yeah, most of those people don't think before they type. I was surprised at how many people actually thought the heating elements were still in tact. "Horrible design flaw! The boards ...

NEW 72-pin connectors (sharing info)
Hey fellas. Some of you are probably already aware of this, but just thought I'd share for those who didn't. If you're looking into doing any NES modding and need a new 72-pin connector, of course you could always disembowel an old Game Genie and use it's connector. OR, you could purchase them at Ne...

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
I was just watching AVGN's new video and when he mentioned you i was like :o  Nice mod btw. Hope to see more toaster mods. Any plans for a portable project from you though? LOL! Yeah, A lot of my YouTube followers kinda had the same reaction. It was pretty funny to watch. :) Anyhow, the only p...

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
up on engadget Holy crap, apparently it's been pretty much everywhere-ed. c_____c Fun fact: I was phone-troubleshooting with a customer at work today when I noticed the front page at HardOCP and nearly crapped myself. Me: "Yes ma'am, I'll need you to hold down the power button for five secooooOOOOO...

Re: designing your own PCBs
Just thought I'd add something real quick-like. For making your own PCB, there's always the additive method that's been discussed, which is pretty cheap and produces decent results. (Adding your resist to the copper board then etching). But if anyone's seriously considering reproducing a decent amou...

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
It would mean having a thicker controller incorporating the (reduced) boards inside, and keeping the grounds separate. The N64 board isn't that big, should fit fine in your toaster. especially if you make it as small as sifuf did  Holy crap, I dunno that I'd have the patience to do what he did...

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
That's true, but things get a little hairy when you start tossing the Genesis and N64 into the mix.nevermind1534 wrote:The NES and SNES controllers are compatible with each other.

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
If you could pull it off, a Super Genintari in a four-slot toaster would be epic. Heheh, yeah. That'd be pretty awesome. :) Difficult and cramped, but not impossible. Four slot system - great idea, NES, SNES (both of RetroDuo for size), Genesis, N64 or SMS - only caveat I think is that you need to ...

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
Love the nutty video, very amusing! Using a toaster gives you plenty of space to fit many types of systems as there is lots of space inside! Heheh, thanks! :D Yeah, it started as a joke but seems to have caught on. The great thing is, you can usually get a brand new toaster for well under $10...

Re: SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
I think the Mario problem is caused by the wires connecting the cart slot to the mobo being too long. Awesome mod though. Yeah, I hear ya. Those shots aren't showing everything exactly how it is today. I actually ended up shortening the wires down to around 3.5" and it helps, but still not perfect ...

SUPER NINTOASTER! (Exactly how it sounds)
My first 8-bit Nintoaster got good enough feedback to convince me to cough up another, so here it is. An SNES crammed inside of a toaster, as you might have guessed by the title. (Built from nothing more than a Super NES, a toaster, four different types of adhesives, magnets ripped from a broken har...

Re: SERIOUS ISSUE - Extending Cart Connector
As has already been said, the problem is definitely the length of your wires. You can't use much more than 3~4", even with awesome wires, and expect it to work with all games. Especially SNES games such as Yoshi's Island with add-on chips. Shorten those wires! Either re-design your case, or expect ...

Re: SERIOUS ISSUE - Extending Cart Connector
maybe the glitch is in your game? I've thought about that, I suppose it's possible but I kinda doubt it. Changing the wire type and length seems to be controlling the glitching a little too precisely. That and I've been able to play though the entire game before on an unaltered system. I'm willing ...
