Ninja Baseball Batman
I just bought this game today. (Ninja baseball batman. Freakin' awesome.) Anyone know what the button/joystick layout is supposed to look like? I can't seem to find any pictures of a NBB machine anywhere.

Re: Fixed Red Rings o' Death with Lemon Pledge! Wanna know how?
I dunno what FWIW means, so I'm going to assume it's the most vicious insult imaginable. How dare you! Anywho, does the Xbox try to boot from the dvd drive when you first start it up? If so, that could explain a connection between decrapitated drive motor and RROD. At any rate, the machine gave me t...

Fixed Red Rings o' Death with Lemon Pledge! Wanna know how?
So I scored a free Xbox 360 from a friend. Like all free Xboxes, it was broken. It didn't display the red rings consistently. Sometimes you'd get the rings and a blank screen, sometimes the console would boot up and display the welcome screen, or dashboard, whatever it's called. But it wouldn't load...

Anyone ever mess with a Sega Naomi?
Despite their ungainly size and all those peripherals involved, it looks like one of these would be really easy to consolize, or at least use at home on a TV or computer monitor (VGA and RCA stereo straight off the board). Am I missing something, or is the system really that easy to adapt? And when ...

Re: simple JAMMA to VGA/component?? (Delayed. But almost done!)
Video encoder finally arrived today. It was real easy to install, just soldered five wires straight to the copper pads on the JAMMA edge. It's a cheap encoder, outputs composite and Svideo only. Haven't tried it with S vid yet, but with composite, it really looks like crap. But it works, and that's ...

Re: simple JAMMA to VGA/component?? (Delayed. But almost done!)
VGA spec can use pin 13 as the C-Sync instead of H-Sync. So I can just splice the C-Synch wire from my JAMMA harness straight to wire 13 on a VGA cable, and it will/might synch up and work? Nice. I just twisted the H and V synch wires from my vga cable together and soldered them to the c-synch on t...

Re: simple JAMMA to VGA/component?? (Delayed. But almost done!)
Bummer... Having a base exercise all this week (pretending to be at war with North Korea and running around in chem gear) so the post office will be closed! Can't pick up my vid encoder. Dang North Koreans. They don't want me to finish my arcade console because this is what they're working with up t...

Re: simple JAMMA to VGA/component??
Well, might be a moot point for you now but actually yes I do have one of these adapter boards. I bought one a while back to play around with. They work pretty well for what they are, though they don't actually do anything to improve image quality. Just convert it to VGA. Here's mine running Mario ...

Re: simple JAMMA to VGA/component??
Well, looks like I'll need a full-on "supergun" arrangement after all. Checked out my arcade power supply, and it was shot. Packed full of so much dust, I probably could have grown crops inside it lol. I think what I would prefer to do would be to scavenge a PSU from a desktop or something and use i...

Re: simple JAMMA to VGA/component??
http://www.arcadespareparts.com/arcade_parts/video_converter/rgb_jamma_vga_converter_board/13052.html Appreciate the tip. I'm actually looking to build some kind of adapter rather than buy one, but that board is pretty reasonably priced. Have you used it yourself? Is it a good one? I wonder what wo...

simple JAMMA to VGA/component?? (Done!)
Scored my very first JAMMA pcb today. A good ol' Neo Geo board, I'm guessing it's an older model, looks a lot bigger than most of the boards pictured in this forum. Only one cart slot, too. Anyways, I would like to construct a simple video converter so I can use a VGA monitor/TV. I don't need a full...

Re: I want to make a Slacker Scooter for College
Why not just replace the megaphone style loudspeaker with a smaller one, like an old computer speaker? Then wire in a volume knob (potentiometer). Should make for a neat, clean package and keep the volume down where you want it. For the security system, I guess you cold run the speaker wires from th...

Re: how do I mod a calculator and a digital clock
You can make your alarm clock -really- loud by wiring in a car horn or two. Grab an automotive relay and some kind of 12 volt source that pushes enough juice to power a car horn like this guy did. http://hackaday.com/2009/09/25/140-db-alarm-clock-hack/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ...

Want to convert pushbutton volume control to rotary dial.
Hello. I'm working on a custom TV/videogame monitor project, and I'm using a gutted Coby flatscreen tv. It has pushbutton (tact switch) controls for pretty much everything, including adjusting the volume and changing the channels. I plan on stuffing all the guts, including the LCD screen itself, int...

Quick AV/RF question
Just wondering, in a non-portable application is there any reason to remove the RF box from a NES board? Thanks.
