Re: Soldering and Desoldering help?
Thanks a lot!!!! I appreciate your help. :D Should the soldering iron be the pencil type thingy, cause thats what I heard somewhere. KK You can also use a flat tip or a pointed tip. I use both of those. Also, make sure you get at least a 50 watt soldering iron, or you won't be able to mel...

Re: Un-portabalization
How about unpotibleizing something that isn't very portable in the first place, like the Atari Lynx or the Game Gear? That's what I'd do. It would be pretty sweet to play the Atari Lynx without breaking your thumbs each time because the d-pad is so stiff, and playing the Game Gear and actually being...

Re: portable laptopish ps2, wii with screen
There's something I've noticed about the PS2 slim; the disc tray. You'd have to cut a large hole in the top of the NES's casing so that you can access the disc tray. Also, ventilation may be a problem. My Wii often gets pretty warm. However, I don't know about my PS2 Slim since I never use it. Every...

Re: PlayStation Network BACK ONLINE!
It's just baffling... they didn't encrypt their customers' data? Wow. I'm just glad I haven't yet purchased anything from PSN. I'm not a huge company and even I encrypt my data.

WTS/T: GC/GBA/GBC/PS/PS2 games, GBASP charger, DS Lite, misc
EDIT: I have most of the pictures up. I'll have to take some more pictures. Well, I need some money for parts for a few projects and I have some stuff I don't really use or don't have the heart to open. I'll trade for just about any Genesis, NES, Super Famicom, Lynx, Game Boy, Game Gear, or SNES ga...

Re: What should I make out of this vintage 60's chrome toaster?
I'll add in a radio as well! Hm... Digital or analog tuning... I could build my own radio. I could have it mix the radio in with the (S)NES sound. I wonder if it would cause interference, though.humakabula1 wrote:A radio.

Re: I made an Super Nintoaster
Congratulations on your snazzy toaster! I'm going to make one out of a vintage 60's chrome toaster soon.
Also, thanks for the info; it explains why my old SNES would only output video in black and white.

What should I make out of this vintage 60's chrome toaster?
I'm going to pick up a vintage 60's chrome toaster that doesn't work as a toaster anymore. I'm planning on housing something inside of it, probably something that I already have. I proposed the idea of putting my miniature SNES inside of it to a friend of mine. He said that it isn't a good idea beca...

Game Gear choke coil solenoid replacement
My Game Gear accidentally fell 6ft to the floor, and a solenoid on the power supply board was knocked right off. Part of the wire was ripped right out of it, so I'll have to replace it. Soldering one back on is easy, but I just don't know the inductance of the solenoid. On the circuit board, it's la...

Dismantling my Satellite T2100 MS-DOS laptop's battery
I just bought a Toshiba Satellite T2100 laptop with MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 installed. Unsurprisingly, the battery is dead, but everything else works. I want to refurbish the battery myself, but I am having trouble getting it open.

Re: Hacking an Etch A Sketch eto -- Suggestions
from north van right on. I just moved from Vancouver and Victoria a few months ago. Spent ten years there. In london for now, in ottawa as we type. D-pad Sketching... well if that's what you want. I think it would be a cool addition to a console mod. Flip a switch and your playing starfox, flip it ...

Re: Hacking an Etch A Sketch eto -- Suggestions
Sweet! Though I can agree that the d-pads are terrible with this... hey, maybe I can make a portable Virtual Boy I don't really have anything on hand that I can mod into it, but I might eventually order a Dingoo a320.

Re: Hacking an Etch A Sketch eto -- Suggestions
do they etch and sketch? Well, you can draw stuff with the d-pad and it has some backgrounds and clip-art. It also has a maze game which is damn hard. I've managed to play through three levels of it I think. You know, if I had a PS1 screen and a roll of duct tape, I could make this into a portable ...

Hacking an Etch A Sketch eto -- Suggestions
I've got a couple of Etch A Sketch eto TV games laying around. I want to do something with them, but I don't have any ideas. It appears to have either a cartridge or serial port on the bottom. I think they were $4 at Toys R Us.
