Re: Was the orginal xbox a 32 bit console?
I like the response that says: "Considering the Nintendo 64 was 64 bits, I think the Xbox would have had a little more than 32...", what like 39? IIRC, I believe the Jaguar, which was *supposed* to be the first 64bit console used two 32bit processors

Re: Funny nerdy stories
I took my lawnmower's engine completely apart looking for problems because I thought there was something wrong with it only to find out that apparently the gas was at too low of a level for it to work properly... Does that count?

Don't be, HD paint brushes... No hope for our race. Well, since there's not much going on with the original thread.... ready to cry? I built a rabbit hutch for a rabbit I got and I am going to be putting shingles on the roof. I bought a pack of shingles the other day only to find this on the packag...

Re: A little something.
Good Luck. 8) IIRC, you can replace the two 4MB chips with one 8MB chip, as long as you leave the pullup resistors. Then you'll have expansion pack functionality with less space. Where are these 8MB chips you speak of? Normally the 64's have two 2MB chips or one 4MB chip built in and you add the ot...

Re: t64 Resurrection
Let's see who can pull it off sooner - you, or Marshall. :P :P At the rate I'm going, anybody could do it first. LOL I made a little board that solders to the back of the cart connector and has pads to solder the wires to. It works, sorta, and I have a question for those of you who have done cart r...

Re: t64 Resurrection
The screen I'm planning on using has a max spec of 16.5mA for the LCD plus a few more for the LED backlight. http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=73-1335-ND" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; As for the amp, I guess I'll have to see what kind of voltage levels...

Re: t64 Resurrection
Quick update: I have been doing some research regarding the power supply portion of the portable. Ideally, it would be great to have the system completely be powered by 3.3V instead of having several different voltages going to different things. By eliminating the DAC for the video and having the si...

Re: t64 Resurrection
A question though - how did you learn to do this stuff? Just from the power of the Internet or from University?? Just like this: I just spent my last 3 days looking up datasheets and wikipedia info on logic gates and similar electronic components. Those have helped me start to understand what every...

Re: use microphone jack forvideo input on laptop?(iknow it crazy
An audio input jack on a computer doesn't support the bandwidth or have the hardware required for video processing, such as video splitters and digitizers. The hardware associated with it is built to handle frequencies in the audio spectrum and not much else.

Re: Now thats more like it!
HD as a marketing buzzword drives me nuts - it's not HD if it isn't at least 1280x720. Freaking hate that! I used to work at Michael's and they sell these florescent lamps that are nothing but the standard twisted lamps that you can buy pretty much anywhere. They used to come in normal packaging un...

Re: t64 Resurrection
What kind of gate is it, and how do you connect it? U8 on the 64 is a 74125 quad bus buffer and its diagram looks like this: http://circuits.datasheetdir.com/102/FAIRCHILDSEMI-DM74LS125A-pinout.jpg The part I'm using is a NC7SZ125P5X that contains a single bus buffer and it looks like this http://c...

Re: Looking for movie
Don't you hate those dreams where you get something really cool and then you tell yourself in your dream that you'll set it aside so that you'll have it later on and then you wake up only to find out it was a dream? It's like: "AWWESSSSSSOME!!!!!! AWWWESSSSSSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *wake up* AWWWWW.......
