Re: Xbox 360 Controller Mods Galore!
pardon my ignorance RDC as I bow down to your forum mastery, but what was the new break through in JTAG? My understanding is that JTAG must be done on a "blade" xbox 360, and with so few around anymore... I was under the impression that JTAG is slowly fading away (sadly) I have a 360 waiting to be J...

Re: Xbox, how to slim and cut down power?
Keys to slimming down your xbox - 1.1 - 1.5 make best slims, 1.1 has no daughter USB board, but has the biggest TSOP for flashing. BTW, TSOP flashing is a must unless you absolutely have no choice but a chip. 1.1 has the older connector head, which isn't as convenient as a 1.2-1.5 after modding via ...

How to fix a burnt Eject button on the XBOX
Hey guys, A while ago I was building a new DVD rom for my brother's xbox. His was failing and just didn't function anymore. Stupidly, I forgot to add the 1k resistor on the eject line and after a few minutes of testing, i could smell the burning smell of an electrical fire. One PC DVD rom shot. Oh w...

Damaged board (XBOX)?
Was working on an XBOX that was in need of TSOP flashing and Sammy repair. Flashed with no issues and then it came to the dreaded magnet of doom for the Samsung drive. The belt was so weak that it couldn't reliably open even with a disk in the drive. It was just not working out. I had a spare DVD dr...

Re: SMS not booting correctly. (Blank Screen)..
I have to ressurect old dead threads when it's about the Master System. The skinny on games on board SMS 1 - the earliest models (I believe they were the earliest) had a boot screen that basically told you to turn off the machine and insert a cart or card and turn it back on again. You could press a...

Re: Xbox repair - a story I would like to share :)
Yeah I considered putting in a bigger HDD, but then I'd have to do the back up and etc. There is a stupid amount of work for doing it that I just didn't want to bother with. Maybe at a later point in time I'll bump it up. He doesn't have a lot of games right now anyways, mostly playing emulators and...

Xbox repair - a story I would like to share :)
hey guys, long time no post. I've just completed a bit of xbox repair and thought that i would pass this story along so that someone, somewhere would be able to learn from my own frustrations and maybe enjoy this short anecdote. The patient in this case is my brother's softmodded xbox. I didn't soft...

You can actually make it tri-region.
Games will work across region regardless of system BTW.

I agree, sticky this one. There are far too many guides that give incorrect or stupid info.

Re: Mini Xbox?
The llamma guide is best for what you want to do. If you are softmodded already, you can determine the version within the dash that you have (almost always). What dash are you running? Evox? Avalaunch? etc? if you do choose to open it up you just need to look at the power connector to tell the diffe...

Re: Mini Xbox?
while I like the look of your xbox, I'm not entirely sure where you were going with the comment... was this in regards to TSOP? VGA? Mini-box?

Re: Mini Xbox?
in order to help you out I first need to determine what version of xbox you have. If it's softmodded your dash might tell you this. XBMC and unleashx both list it in the settings. benefits over softmod 1 - no hard drive lock 2 - can turn off DVD required for boot 3 - can run everything pretty much s...

Re: Mini Xbox?
Yeah pretty much, it is possible to set a 1.0 - 1.1 xbox up with a BIOS switch and actually have it run up to 4 different BIOSes. The 1.2-1.5 can run 1 BIOS. It's basically the same as a running it with a chip only no chip is required. It might sound over your head but it literally comes down to eit...

Mini Xbox?
was thinking about building a mini-xbox. Over the years, I've only ever owned 1.6 xboxs and softmodded them. They don't lend themselves to being made "mini'd" without a modchip. I realize that a $10 investment is small beans compared to the overall cost of the project, but what can I say? I'm cheap....
