Re: WTB: Snes Power Switch
Looks like the closest standard size is 1.125" spacing between the screw terminals. The SNES is 1.325" +/- a bit, but definitely not 1.125". Your best bet is to get one off another SNES. Look for an as-is for-parts auction on Ebay. Power switches are a really unusual thing to break, so you should be...

DIY SFC Wii Classic Controller
I've really wanted one of these ever since I first heard of them, but they're always around $100 so I pretty much gave up on it until I came across this project and decided to give it a try and see if I couldn't build my own. Holy frak, the design is simple. Considering my last several microcontroll...

Dyeing filler
I'm working on a project with a cart edge socket that I can't get in the correct pin count and pitch, so I bought one with the right pitch and more pins than necessary and cut it down with a hacksaw to the right size. Now, I would like to rebuild the cut-off end of the socket. I've had some initial ...

Re: tons of video games on ebay
Yay, I snagged all of the Pokemon except Crystal (after how high Yellow went for, I couldn't go that high for Crystal, though you're welcome for the extra $20 I upped the bid in the final moments )

Re: FS: Nonvolatile 1M (4x) N64 Memory Cards
1x PCB's are in. Assembled one already and it's working great. I'll play around with it for awhile to stress test it, then I'll start taking orders on the 1x cards and send out for 4x PCB's. I'm currently in the process of setting up my website with Google Checkout, so we'll see if that works out. h...

Ok, I'll reserve the 2 official shells for you. One has a label, the other doesn't. I have a few chips on hand, so I can assemble them right away once the boards arrive. I'll let you know once they get here.

Re: FS: Nonvolatile 1M (4x) N64 Memory Cards
I haven't decided on the shells for the 1x. I have 1 clear shell that would fit them ok, and I also have a ton of various shells of various sizes I could use. The most common shell I have is the same size/shape as this one with several different labels. http://www.nesrepairshop.com/online_shopping/p...

Re: Everything switch box?
I have a nice switch box for Composite/Component/S-Video that auto-detects which line has a signal transmitting and automatically switches to properly. It was $30 at Radio Shack. Tack a format converter onto the output and you've got yourself a solution. For coax, just run out through an RF modulato...

Re: SNES Controller -- Capacitor
I had a feeling it was something like that. Rather than rebuilding that design, just use this one: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14133" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It definitely works, and the resistors can be anything >=10K, though I think the official design that ...

Re: SNES Controller -- Capacitor
Well, I measure 1.6nF across it, but that doesn't sound right... I would think it should be higher. Assuming it's a smoothing cap, I would think it would be closer to 100nF. I guess it isn't accurate to measure it on the board. In any case, I have NSTC-U, NTSC-J, and PAL controllers and none of them...

Re: WTB: Super Nintendo Mini
My suggestion is look for one being sold as-is. I picked one up on Ebay for $20 with what turned out to be a dirty cart slot causing it to not boot. Bad cables are another common reason for a lot of not-working-as-is sales. Here's a good candidate (ending soon) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Nintendo...

Re: FS: Nonvolatile 1M (4x) N64 Memory Cards
Ok, so the chip I initially thought I fried seems to be working fine now, there was a short somewhere on the card. Now that it's taken care of and all of the unnecessary passive components are removed, I'm going to stress test it a bit. I know I promised 4x cards and all I've worked on so far is 1x,...

Re: Official SNES controllers using 4021's
Well, looks like this has already been discussed here on bh http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=38504" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However, I would like to comment that it is not correct to say that -102's have V520B's and -005's have 4021's. All of my PAL controllers ar...
