Re: Atari 6-switch portable?
Exactly. The 4 switch is preferred because of how easy it is to make the board smaller. With a 6 switch, you need to keep the entire middle portion of the board (which is something like 4.5" by 6" I think.) However, they both have the same hardware inside (justa different layout), so you can figure...

Get as much booze as you can and get *really* drunk!
Seriously though, that's harsh. Sorry I can't offer any advice, nothing that bad has happened to me.

As always, all prices are negotiable and I do not accept PayPal. Also as always, trades are preferable. Lastly, as always, if you want something not on here ask, I might have it and might even be willing to let go of it. WANTED In order of priority/want: 3rd Party N64 Controller (Retro-Bit or Yobo i...

Re: GCMini Worklog! Need feedback!!
First, there's still no start button. You need one, trust me. Second, the one with no d-pad looks REALLY asymmetrical. Put SOMETHING on the side with the stick, maybe a grille or speaker holes. Lastly, you must be rich being able to make mockups like that. Either that or have a really cheap source o...

Re: Notebook 64 (Worklog)
Now how to get video output from an N64 Motherboard into a VGA format? I have 2 plans currently as options #1. I could do an RGB mod on the N64 like seen here But thats kind of risky and I have read from people that have done this and other RGB mods that the screen comes out very dark or there are ...

Re: WIP Thread and a Retro Entertainment System Analysis
The Yobo FC and RES look very similar. The RES has a different board than the Yobo, but apparently new Yobos have the same board.

I think it looks cool with your original design. Kind of a blend of GC and Wii features. Nice project, I like it.

I use Bondo "spot and glazing putty". Works great, dries kinda quickly but not overly so. Sands real easily.
Also, nice work so far.

All I can say about this is that I want one, even if it is crap. If only I had a screen, I would have plans for it.

Re: Where should a beginning hacker start?
Well, you shouldn't hack into Microsoft first, maybe start with a small local bank.
Just kidding. Start with simple mods. I recommend reading up on electronics and taking classes if possible as well.

Re: I looked on ebay for parts and tact switches are cheap
Don't buy those resistors, they are huge. You want 1/4 watt or 1/2 watt ones. You can get them cheap from electronics suppliers.
