Re: got myself an OUYA
Still fiddling with it, but I'm impressed overall. Enjoying Organ Trail more than I should.

got myself an OUYA
I wasn't a backer, but I did pick up a Ouya recently. Thus far, my impression is that it shows promise but is somewhat unrefined.
Anyone else have one? Thoughts?

Re: I built a NES pretty much from scratch.
The cartridge slot is Digikey part #A31721-ND. It isn't the exact same pitch as the original connector, but it is so close that it works fine and I've never had a problem. Think I recall Ben saying the NES cart contacts have a pitch of 2.5 mm, rather than the standard 2.54 mm. That would probably n...

Re: MGC 2013 thread?!?
I wouldn't think the Panasonic Q would use different screws than the normal Gamecube. It's the same one I use for the Sega Nomad so there will be means to open the Panasonic Q at the show if it is the same. Hopefully the fan is just dusty and got cracked or damaged in any way. Have to watch some Q ...

Re: MGC 2013 thread?!?
If it uses the same security bit screws as a standard gamecube, I can bring those. Sounds like it needs a good internal dusting, but I'll defer to the more experienced modders on that.

Re: MGC 2013 thread?!?
According to Joystiq, Hyperkin will be more or less unveiling the RetroN 4 at MGC. It hooks up via HDMI and supports NES, SNES, Genesis, and GBA games. It will allow use of stock controllers, as well as its own bluetooth controller. Color me intrigued.

Re: Custom PC Game controller?
You could wire up a keyboard into a controller, which would give you ~100 buttons available. Not sure what you'd do for analog sticks though.

Game Gear RGB modding
I haven't tried any of these mods yet, but I decided it might be helpful to have them linked here. The RGB signal appears to be 15 htz, so it should work with the PSone screen. Chris has some mod info that's heavy on pictures if a little light on info. It does, however, feature a variable resistor f...

Additionally, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon releases at midnight Sunday (Saturday to Sunday), so if anyone also wants to get a copy or just bum along, they are welcome.
As an aside, if I remember to log in from a PC, I'll change the MGC announcement thread from 2011 to this one.
