Re: Nintendo Sixty Faux worklog

Are you going to use the X and Y buttons as start and... something? Or maybe R and Z? I was thinking about that earlier today. What I would do is make X the bottom C button, and Y the left one, then put the top and right one next to them. Then playing the original Smash Bros. more like Melee or Bra...

Re: I just had an idea (Duck Hunt on the Retro Duo)!

The method described will not work. The light gun did not use the same 5 pins as the nes controller. It needed the other two pins on the controller port (blue and purple). Those pins are absent on regular snes controllers, so it will not work. Oh, like the Arkanoid controller. Well, like I said, ju...

Re: I just had an idea (Duck Hunt on the Retro Duo)!

Issue is that Duck Hunt (and other light gun games on other systems) were designed to work on old style televisions, not LCD or plasma screens - hence, no way to test now (unless you have an old television still). I don't have a single Plasma Screen TV, so it wouldn't present any problem for me. Bu...

I just had an idea (Duck Hunt on the Retro Duo)!

Now I'll be honest, I don't have a Retro Duo, so I've never actually tried this, it's just an idea so I won't guarantee it will work. Now that that little disclaimer is out of the way... Long before I found out about this great place, I visited resident NES-in-a-toaster maker vomitsaw's websiteprett...

Re: New NOACp - worklog

It's the Super Joy III. The original system looks like a cheap ripoff N64 controller, except the joystick doesn't even move, it has a player 2 jack, and a battery compartment (that's too small for AA's but too big for AAA's) where the memory card would go  I have one of those too, (I plan on m...

Neat, albeit a tad fugly, better than some of your other stuff. Still better than anything I've made (Read: Nothing).

Re:

That happens when the lithium coin cells in the VMU are dead and power is applied through the Dreamcast. You can either put up with it or buy two new CR2032 cells for the VMU. Or just get a new VMU and transfer the data over to it. With dead batteries, it still works as a memory card, you just can'...

Super Joy?

So I have a Super Joy III with a Famicom port in the back, had it for a while actually, before I knew about the site. Anyway, I was wondering what I need to do to get it to work with domestic NES games. I'm kind of new at this, so... help?

Re: GCP Handheld 75% done!!

After waiting a couple of weeks and still not getting my battery's I decided to rework the case. Case was ugly and needed allot of touchups. Case is primerd so all I need to do is paint it. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/5617/dsc0009tc1.jpg I haven't decided what color it should be. I was thinkin...

You should do an overclocking mod with a switch and all that jazz, too! I mean, you're doing all this other stuff, may as well throw in that extra frill. Either way, looks really great. Can't wait to see it finished.
