Re: PIC N64 Controller
Not with an easy mind I'm afraid. I could practically guarantee that it would be a pain to get working and would be completely unsatisfactory. Uni holidays are coming up. I should get the design for the new board final by then.

Re: PIC N64 Controller
Does anyone know the response of the PIF to a CRC error. It turns out that starting an eeprom read takes longer than I thought which means that the only way I can make it work is if I give a bad CRC the first time and then I can have plenty of time to read the eeprom if the n64 will just retry it. I...

Re: Reason why n64 wont boot after connecting controller?
Those symptoms arise when the data line on the controller is held low. Check for any shorts to ground, try the controller in another n64 to isolate where the fault is. Its unlikely that the N64 controller has broken to the point that its constantly driving the line low so you've probably had a small...

Re: How to make a LED flash once circuit
Just use a monostable multivibrator. Likely you'll only need components you have hanging around.

Re: Regulator HELP! NOW! PLEASE!
Its very simple. If the new cells you add to the battery are of different capacity or chemistry then they will discharge at a different rate. You will eventually get to a point where the smallest cell is empty and the other cells are not. I believe that in this case the other batteries can still dri...

Re: Regulator
Seems like overkill but it should work providing you can solder htssop packages.

Re: Battery Technology
Variations on Lithium batteries are the most likely bet for chemical batteries. Lithium is pretty much perfect as a major component in a battery chemistry due to its light weight. After all its only the third element in the periodic table.

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
Looks great as always. Which reminds me, how do you take these photos on clean white backgrounds all the time? Is it shopped or do you have a sheet of A2 in a corner you keep for pretty photos?

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
Those are some very nice boards. Looking great.
You mean you've been doing all that soldering with an iron and a litre of flux? You're a better man than I. What kind of reflow will you be using? A hot air blower or an oven?marshallh wrote:Reflow soldering for any more past this point, haha.

Re: Another Gamecube to N64 controller adapter
i hate pic's That's seems like a very strong reaction considering they're both micros with a fairly similar feature set. I've looked through the source for this and its not as professionally done as the cube64 but it should still work fine. Everything looked ok from a cursory glance on the N64 side...

Re: Re-wiring the memory card/ rumble motor slot
What are you using to desolder the pins? With any object with heaps of pins it can be hard to get it to budge but if you spend a huge amount of time getting all the solder off the pins then it should eventually come out.
