Re: Question for Ben: Bill Paxton Pinball. I/O Board
Bill Paxton Pinball is, compared to other pinball machines, simple.... Hardware-wise. Bulk of the processing is one by the Propeller microcontroller. The code looked simple enough to pick up after playing with it for some time. I did ask Ben about the code he wrote and he would have no problem shari...

Re: Starting a computer repair/IT business
Well as tools go... Have a flash drive just with portable apps.. Like these I personally have a DVD with XP service pack 2 and 3 on it. The install files for AVG, Zone Alarm and Fire Fox. Having it ready and there is a lot more professional then saying, "One second let me connect to the site and dow...

Re: What's your nerdiest/geekiest moment?
I'm sure some of you watch NCIS. There was a scene were McGee was working on a computer and Gibbs calls him.
"Just a sec boss. I need to change the native resolution of my screen."
He was looking at a CRT.
Oh, I thought I'd split at the sides.

Re: BenHeck and N64s
I still really want to make a Sega CDX portable, though. But where will you get the uranium?! Yeah I have to say that while you can emulate the N64, there's nothing like the good old fashion hardware. Heck talk to Marshallh, there are games that can not be emulated properly because they were writte...

Here's a listing of some region free DVD players. It looks like Amazon has a nice selection to pick from.

Re: Writing up a business plan
Best suggesting I would have would be to look around the internet first to get a good idea of what needs to be in it. Develop your idea some. After that you'll want to have a professional business plan written up. You can go about this in a few ways, one would be to take to a business consultant who...

Re: I want a laptop
As far as I would go with the laptop, I try to avoid refurbished as much as possible, as you do run the risk of a DOA. Look if you can at Tigerdirect.com and Microcenter.com, both like Newegg have great deals on new laptops at about the $200-300 range. When you say VGA do you mean the type of graphi...

Re: Anime movies
Just remembered a few good ones. Vampire Hunter D Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Blood the last vampire Vampire Hunter D is kind of aged in it's animation style, but still an interesting movie. Bloodlust is a very good sequel, I actually prefer the story to the original, and it's got updated and frankl...

Re: 64 Boy for sale!
Aceboy44, portables don't have a standardized price. These are custom items and so they have custom price tags. This market works on the principle of "supply and demand", and "whatever the market will bear." As everyone has different qualities and the skill put into each portable you can't say that ...

Re: Anime movies
Ghost in the Shell, 1 and 2 are good
Char's Counterattack
X
Escaflowne
These are all good. I have to give this warning though, GitS and X have some adult content and so many not be appropriate for kids.

Re: Backstabbing Friends
I can't remember the term but I see it as this. People view each other as people or objects. If they use you, disrespect you and generally don't care unless it's to their benefit, you are viewed as an object for them (like a vending machine or a car). But those that will actually care and help you w...

I love the part were the President of the school district, says "... we are not aware of any evidence that district employees used LANrev photographs or screen-shots for such inappropriate purposes." It doesn't matter what purpose these were used for, hell it doesn't matter if they were just sitting...

Re: What's your nerdiest/geekiest moment?
what was probably my geekiest moment occured about a year ago at work....one of the routers in the server room at the place I work at decided to burn out...which left everyone unable to work as that was the one that hooked to all the factory computers. Well, I broke into the server room...and fixed...

Re: What's your nerdiest/geekiest moment?
Very likely... 24K gold is so soft a necklace would bend its own links from it's own weight. I had a close to my most geekiest moment. I was at a party with people from my church. I got into talking about what I know about hydroponics and various other sustainable fuel sources and had a small crowd ...

Re: Deep dish or thin crust?
Just remember guys there's a difference between deep-dish style and Chicago style deep-dish. It's obvious many of you know Chicago style, but places like Rocky Rocco's, Jets, Pizza Hut do deep-dish. And if anyone doesn't know what that is like it's more of a leaven crust, at least an inch thick. Top...
